Too close for Sisters?

I’m not having kids for a while, but I plan on naming my first daughter [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. I also really love [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] sound like great names for sisters at first glance. I’m part Latvian so I really lean towards names that work well in both Latvian and English (though the spellings of these names are different. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is spelled Lilija in that language and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] would be [name_f]Zuzanna[/name_f]. I love both variants, but I think the former are easier for English speakers).

Both names mean “lily” though so I’m hesitant about it because I think siblings should have their own names. Most people probably wouldn’t think twice if they saw them together unless they’re really into researching name meanings or something. Overthinking it or not? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they’re too close or still usable? I don’t wanna pigeon hole myself if I decide to have more kids. lol

I think most people wouldn’t realize they both mean lily, and would think they were very different names. I would say that the combo is still usable.

Like you said, it’s really only people who research name meanings who would notice the connection. I don’t think it’s too big of a deal.

I agree with the previous posters that it’d be fine
Also, I love [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] (though I’ll admit I prefer [name_f]Zuzanna[/name_f] to [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]) !!

I think it would be fine! They sound nice together and I don’t think most people would know

I doubt anyone would know. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if they did, it isn’t much of a problem. They’re two separate names with different etymology and there’s something sort of special about a shared meaning.

Most people won’t know. It’s only a problem if it bothers you.
