Too close to my friend's choice?

We have finally chosen a name for our second son but one of my friends has a two year old with the female version of this name. Our name is a traditional name and there would be no question that it was a boys name. However my friend and I live near each other and all our kids are close in age. Should we reconsider?

It isn’t the same name so I would use it. I’m thinking along the lines of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] and [name_m]George[/name_m]. I don’t think it should be an issue at all. Use what you love!

I think it is fine to use it.

I think it’s fine.

I think that it is perfectly okay.

It would depend on the names. If you want to use [name_m]George[/name_m], and your friend’s daughter is [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], that would be too close. If she’s called [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] though, that would be fine, if you see what I mean.

I don’t see an issue. They aren’t siblings (or even related for that matter) and I’m sure there wouldn’t be any confusion or hurt feelings. I say go for it.
