So I love both [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] ( Isby,[name_f]Ibby[/name_f]) and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]( [name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f]) but people say they are too matchy which I kinda am hesitant about. Hubby set on [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], I am set on both. I have contemplated [name_f]Mira[/name_f] but worried people might think it is a nickname.
Help
Is this for sisters? Twins? One baby girl?
I prefer [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] to [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] and I think they are probably too close for sisters.
Maybe one in the middle name spot?
For me they would be too close, especially if one is meant to be the first and one to be the middle name. Also for twins or sisters I would consider them too close. I don’t think people would necessarily think [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is just a nn. The name [name_f]Mira[/name_f] reminds me of a local children’s book author who is really famous here for a specific cute book
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] are nauseatingly cute together for sisters. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom used to tell my sister and I bedtime stories based on the fictitious adventures of two sisters named [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] then I was enough of a name nerd to be like “gee Mom, is that really the best you can do?” It is such an obvious sibset, like [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and [name_f]Faith[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is a great name and it would never occur to me that it may be a nickname for something else.
Yes, they’re too close. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names end in -bel. Would you feel obligated to keep the trend with a third?
Yes I think that the [name_f]Bel[/name_f] makes them too close as well
[name_m]How[/name_m] about swapping [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] for [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] ([name_u]Issy[/name_u] or [name_f]Dora[/name_f]) or [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] (Isby, [name_f]Ibby[/name_f], [name_u]Issy[/name_u], [name_u]Bo[/name_u]) or even [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (Idgie, [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_f]Gen[/name_f])
Or perhaps changing [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] to [name_f]Mirabeau[/name_f] or [name_f]Mireya[/name_f], both would let you still have the nn [name_f]Mira[/name_f]
I totally just realised I could use [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
my husband would not let me change [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
Thanks guys
I think that [name_f]Mira[/name_f] would be a pretty choice for a girl’s bame . I once met two little girls, one was named [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and the little sister was bamed [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. I also knew a little girl named [name_f]Meara[/name_f]. [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is a great choice!
Definitely too close in my opinion.
I do think [name_f]Mira[/name_f] would be nice as a given name though.
What do you think about [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]/[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]?
