Hello! I am expecting a baby girl in [name_f]July[/name_f]. I am obliged to either now or later name one of my daughters [name_u]Simone[/name_u], after my great great great Grandma. I love the name [name_u]Simone[/name_u], and I know I will someday use it. This baby just does not feel like a [name_u]Simone[/name_u]. She feels like a [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. But I’m worried that [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] are to close.
What do you think, are they too close?
I personally think any baby could be any name personally If you love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]- I think [name_u]Simone[/name_u] would be perfect too. And yes- I think if you have a [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] a [name_u]Simone[/name_u] down the road would be way too similar.
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] are way too similar in sound for sisters. Usually, if you have to ask, they’re too close. You could use either [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] or [name_u]Simone[/name_u] in the middle name spot and the other as a first name in a different combo, ie sisters [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Moriah[/name_f] [name_u]Simone[/name_u].
I’d maybe just hold on to both of those if you’re not feeling [name_u]Simone[/name_u] right now. I don’t think they would really work as sibling names; not only do they sound pretty close, they also kind of rhyme
I think they are too close for sisters. If this baby feels like a [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] to you, maybe you could use [name_u]Simone[/name_u] as a middle name later? Or you could use [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] as a middle name for this baby.
Since you’re obliged to use [name_u]Simone[/name_u], then yeah [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] doesn’t sound like a good idea.
I prefer [name_u]Simone[/name_u] of the two of them and in your position I would use [name_u]Simone[/name_u] for this daughter since you can’t garuantee you’ll even have another.
