We are seriously considering the name [name_m]Otto[/name_m] after just finding out we’re having a boy! I really love it and my husband actually suggested it. I have two questions though that fellow berries can help with:
siblings are [name_u]Levi[/name_u], [name_f]Anya[/name_f], and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. Is [name_m]Otto[/name_m] too close to [name_f]Anya[/name_f] in sound or do they compliment each other? I can’t decide! I definitely prefer short/vowel heavy names.
in our friend circle we have an [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] nn. [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and an Oleleanya nn. [name_m]Ole[/name_m] with a long ‘o’ and long ‘e’ sound. Is [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_m]Ole[/name_m] too much?? We don’t share names before the birth so I hesitate to get the other parents input. They’d probably say it was fine though. I just don’t know if it feels like a lot.
Otto is PERFECT in your sibset, plus I love it It’s cool, strong and interesting.
I love that they’d all have different vowel endings and short, energetic, vowel-rich names.
Anya and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sound nothing alike to me, but I can see there might be a slight similarity in an American accent. Not close enough to be confusing, though — and that goes for [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_m]Ole[/name_m] too.
I’d be thrilled to see you use [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. Congratulations on your baby boy
I don’t think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f] sound too alike at all! I love [name_m]Otto[/name_m] with the rest of your other children’s names!
As for [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], [name_m]Ole[/name_m], and [name_m]Otto[/name_m]. I think they’re all different enough that you’ll be fine Go with what your heart says! There’s no going wrong with [name_m]Otto[/name_m]
I don’t think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f] are too similar! (I also love the names [name_u]Levi[/name_u] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]). I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is also fine with the other kids in the friend circle.
Thanks, that’s very encouraging! I think the ‘[name_m]Ah[/name_m]’ sound in [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and [name_m]Otto[/name_m] felt close to me (yep, American). But you’re right @katinka that the ending is different in each name and that helps a lot😊.
Otto is fabulous in that sibset! Not too close to [name_f]Anya[/name_f] at all. I am loving it!
I also think it’s fine to have [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], and [name_m]Ole[/name_m] in a friend circle. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is quite distinct.
Otto goes so perfectly with your other childrens names!! It doesn’t seem too close to [name_f]Anya[/name_f] to me (I can see where you’re coming from though, in my accent the beginning sounds are the same, but the rest of the names are different enough to stand apart!)
I also don’t think it’s too close to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or [name_m]Ole[/name_m]! the ‘t’ sound makes it stand out from the other two!
I don’t think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is too close to [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or [name_m]Ole[/name_m] and it’s perfect with your set!
I agree that you’re overthinking this Other than the first syllable in [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f], they don’t share any similarities - same thing with [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] sounds great with your other kiddos!
I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m]’s fine, even if I say [name_f]Anya[/name_f] with an American accent. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is very different to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] & [name_m]Ole[/name_m] imo, and if their parents (whichever came second) didn’t care then there’s no need for you to either.
