Too common for a girl, but on a boy

I’ve always loved the name [name]Morgan[/name], for both genders. I’ve decided that I will probably not use it for a girl due to it’s popularity, but is it still too common/popular on a boy? I don’t know any male [name]Morgan[/name]'s. So what do you think? Is it cool for a boy? Your general thoughts on the name?

I really like [name]Morgan[/name] on a boy; strangely enough, I’ve only met one female [name]Morgan[/name]. The other four or five were guys. [name]Morgan[/name] feels really rugged to me, which is part of the reason I have such a hard time with it on a girl.

I think I’ve met a few female Morgans in the past before but when I met a male Morgan last year, the name turned all boy for me. It’s a nice, sturdy unisex name and though the name has been leaning more towards the girls side these days, I find it’s evenly split. Definitely a cool name for a boy.

I think it’s cute on a boy. I’ve never met a [name]Morgan[/name] of any gender, but I think I’d prefer it on a boy.

I can’t say because I live in [name]England[/name]. In my local area I know more male Morgans than I do female, we’re talking about an area where [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Alex[/name] are still boys names, i wouldn’t hesitate to call my son [name]Devon[/name], [name]Phoenix[/name] or [name]Sydney[/name] around here. [name]America[/name] is a different story though. I think you’d be better off asking some local friend on family to get an idea on whether your local community would find it weird or cool

I like [name]Morgan[/name] on a boy. I know 2 female Morgans and 1 male [name]Morgan[/name]. Its one of those names that works well for both genders (like [name]Rowan[/name]). I think I personally like it better on a boy. Its a handsome name.

I prefer [name]Morgan[/name] on a boy and I wouldn’t say that it’s too common for a boy, either. It’s actually been decreasing in popularity for boys (it was 587 in 2012 and 361 in 2003).

The only [name]Morgan[/name] i’ve ever personally known was a male. I like it!

I vastly prefer it for boy, and I think it’s one of the few names that can go either way without people freaking out over it. I think it’s a very handsome name.

Its better on a boy! I know a 10 year old female [name]Morgan[/name] and a 2 year old male [name]Morgan[/name]. The 2 year old definitely wears the name better! I love it for a boy.

[name]Morgan[/name] is a solid name choice I think, and seems like more of a male name than a female name to me. I’ve known three dude’s named [name]Morgan[/name], but never a dudette.

To me, [name]Morgan[/name] is more of a boys name because the first person I think of when I hear the name is [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Freeman[/name]. He is an awesome individual and I think any male named [name]Morgan[/name] would be proud to wear the name!

Whenever I hear [name]Morgan[/name], I think of Boy Meets World (she was [name]Cory[/name]'s little sister) so it’s REALLY hard for me to see it on a boy because every time I hear the name I think of her!

BUT I think it can work on a boy.

[name]Love[/name] it on a boy.

I don’t think [name]Morgan[/name] is too terribly popular for either gender, at least not where I live (KS). I have only known 2 Morgans, 1 my age and 1 who would be elementary school age now. They were both girls, but I think I actually prefer it as a boy name. I also like [name]Ashley[/name] and [name]Kelly[/name] far better on a boy than a girl. I’ve known 1 male with each of those names. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to use them, though. [name]Morgan[/name] seems more usable than they others I think because it doesn’t in the “lee” sound that comes across as feminine these days.

I much prefer [name]Morgan[/name] on a boy.

Definitely works for either gender, but it would be very fresh and handsome on a boy. I like it!

My sister is [name]Morgan[/name], so I feel like it’s a girl’s name, but I think it also works for a boy.

I didn’t even realize that [name]Morgan[/name] was still a popular name for girls. Too me, it seemed like that was more of a trend back in the 90s.

I would love to meet a little boy [name]Morgan[/name] though.

The only [name]Morgan[/name] I know is male!
