I wouldn’t consider [name_u]Blair[/name_u] a feminine name at all. I think it has lots of masculine charm and could equally (if not more so) be used on a boy

I have only ever met boys with the name [name_u]Blaire[/name_u] (they spelled it with an ‘e’).

Reminds me a lot of actress [name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m], that’s why it sounds very feminine to me.

I have only heard this name a few times, all on females, so it is feminine to me.

I think it’s unisex, but, that being said, I greatly prefer it on girls.

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] is all girl to me. Maybe because of it’s resemblance to [name_u]Clair[/name_u]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f]? I just can’t see it on a boy.

All the Blairs I know are girls (and they all are under the age of 5).

I have definitely heard it more on girls but it doesn’t sound at all feminine to me

I love [name_u]Blair[/name_u] for a boy and think of it as a boys name. (My BFF since childhood is names [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. He’s my sons godfather) BUT with the boys names on girls trend, it might be a problem when he’s older. I went to school with a male [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] who was teased mercilessly, even though [name_u]Shannon[/name_u]'s origins are male. Tough call.

When I hear [name_u]Blair[/name_u] I think of the actor, [name_u]Blair[/name_u] Underwood.

The only time I’ve ever seen [name_u]Blair[/name_u] used in real life was on a boy.

[name_f]Every[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] I’ve ever seen or met in my area has been female. I can’t see it on a boy.

I see [name_u]Blair[/name_u] as unisex, but more masculine than feminine. I’ve only seen it as a last name though, like the former British prime minister [name_u]Tony[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u].

My father’s name is [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. It was once a boy’s name but now it’s mostly gone to the girls. I wouldn’t name a boy [name_u]Blair[/name_u].

[name_u]Blair[/name_u] WAS and still IS a masculine name so I don’t really understand the question. It doesn’t “sound” feminine, does it? Another question could be: Is [name_u]Blair[/name_u] too masculine for a girl?

Thanks all of you for your votes & comments.

In the beginning I think it was more girly due to [name_u]Blair[/name_u] From Gossip Girl but now I really like it on boy after I saw someone here who haves a son named [name_u]Blair[/name_u].

And sorry that I cant comment on each of you but I have no time.

That’s what I think of when I hear [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. However Gossip Girl is more popular with young adults and teenagers, so in a few years when these (me included) are grown up and have children the association might be stronger than now.

I didn’t even realise people used this name on girls until I started visiting baby name forums. I know of at least a dozen men with this name and would never have even dreamed of using it on a girl. I think it is really masculine. (I’ve never seen any of the TV shows that had female characters named [name_u]Blair[/name_u].)

I’d like it on a boy, but only in theory. In reality, I think it has too much teasing potential. Something like [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] could have a bit more chance, maybe because it also is tied to a “cool” word (blaze means fire, so I guess?).
