I’d love to hear some thoughts on [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f]?
It’s longer and more feminine than my usual taste - I tend to go for names that are definitely ‘girl’ but that lean towards the shorter and snappier end of things, especially as our last name is long.
But [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] is a family name on my husband’s side (any future baby would have Italian citizenship) and I’m really liking it! I also really like [name_m]Rafi[/name_m]/[name_m]Raffi[/name_m] as a nn. Actually the family name is either [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f]/[name_f]Rafaella[/name_f] but I prefer it without any extra letters. Our daughter is [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
Does [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f]/[name_m]Rafi[/name_m] work with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]? And does anyone have any more short and sharp (but not nicknamey) middle name options?
I wouldn’t expect it as a sister for [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but it doesn’t NOT work. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] is pretty cute
I think it’s a great name! I like it with [name_f]Margot[/name_f], too! They actually conjur similar imagery for me (European, sophisticated, spirited, classic but contemporary-sounding).
I don’t know if you’ll appreciate the alliteration or not, but I thought of [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].

No, not at all! If anything it’s a sweet link between sisters. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is one of my favourite middles at the moment — it works with almost anything, like a much less popular version of [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] is a bit longer for my ear compared to [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. But [name_m]Raffi[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are very sweet together so it would work. [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] are both gorgeous!
From your list, I really like [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] is a super lovely name and goes well with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], which someone else suggested, is very nice.
Personal preference wise I think I prefer [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f] or [name_f]Rafaella[/name_f] though. For me, if I saw [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] I would probably assume she was of Spanish or Portuguese background
I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] are fine! They’re a little bit different, stylistically, but [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f]‘s a gorgeous name, and not all siblings’ names have to match exactly! For what it’s worth, I love meeting girls with the name. (Not that it happens more than a blue moon, but there is a regular customer at the restaurant where I work whose name is [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f], and I’m always pleasantly surprised when I see her name come up!) I think both [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Bess[/name_f] are adorable; I would also suggest [name_f]Rafaela[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], mainly because I’ve been thinking of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f], and I think the two names are adorable together. I think [name_m]Raffi[/name_m] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are perfect together.
