Too girly?

So, recently my cousin found out she was pregnant (yay!)
And its a boy (double yay!)

But she is worried that the name she has chosen, [name]Luca[/name], is too girly for a boy.
I certainly don’t feel that way, and in order to reassure her, I would like your views on [name]Luca[/name] as a name for a boy!

Shes aware that its a name that is likely to become increasingly popular, due to [name]Hilary[/name] [name]Duff[/name] calling her son [name]Luca[/name], but shes okay with this:-)

I like [name]Luca[/name]. It’s not girly to me at all. [name]Luca[/name] is a classic boys name :slight_smile:

[name]Luca[/name] is gorgeous. Not a girls name as far as I’m concerned. I think the boys can claim this one for a little longer.

[name]Luca[/name] is one of my top names, I love it! It’s so handsome. It’s most definitely a boys name. Girl’s named [name]Luca[/name] are the ones with a boys name. It’s just the Italian form of [name]Luke[/name]/[name]Lucas[/name]. :slight_smile:

[name]Luca[/name] ranks 272 for boys and not in the top 1000 for girls in the US so I would not be that worried. But to those who say it is boy only, according to BehindtheName [name]Luca[/name] is feminine in Hungary and Croatia.

I love [name]Luca[/name]! I am deciding between [name]Luca[/name] and [name]Lucas[/name] for my baby boy due in [name]July[/name]!

When I hear [name]Luca[/name] boy instantly comes to mind. To me it sounds very strong, I don’t know if I have even heard it used for a girl before.

Much more of a boy’s name than a girls! My girlfriends daughter is named [name]Luca[/name] and she gets strange looks whenever she introduces her, so I’d say to the general population it’s a boys name. And if she is worried give him a solid boy only name in the middle.

Yeah, I too think [name]Luca[/name] is totally a boys name. I think its a very handsome choice and is quite masculine. She should definitely go for it!
