Too many restrictions - no contenders!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, I could really use some fresh ideas for some boy names (first names). So far, we’ve been able to identify some parameters around the name, but the trouble is, I feel like it’s leaving us with no options to choose from.

Here are the parameters:

• preferably 2 or 4 syllables (since our last names are each 3 syllables) or if we have to do 3 syllables, the stress on any syllable but the second
• No names ending with “o” (as my last name ends in “o” and I want to use both of our last names)
• No names ending in “a” (as my husband’s last name ends in “a” and even though I want both last names used, I imagine that just my husband’s last name will be most often used)
• No names starting with “r” as my husband’s last name starts with “r”
• preferably a Latin based name (as I’m of Italian descent and my husband is Hispanic) but nothing too obviously Latin - I’d like it to sound complementary with our last names but not something that sounds garbled/wrong in the mouth of an English speaker, something too difficult to pronounce or something flowery.

Some options that I like (that my husband does not):

• [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] (with stress on first syllable)
• [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] (but pronounced [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f] not eye-van )
• [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
• [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (even though I don’t feel I could ultimately choose this for a variety of reasons, I do love it)

Any suggestions/guidance would be very much appreciated. [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is due very soon and it would be helpful to at least have a short list we both agree on…

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] are beautiful! But my uncle is [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] and we know a few Julians which makes it harder to choose as an option for some reason. I’m finding that I really like a lot of the names of my family members but don’t want to repeat them…

Thanks - good suggestions! My husband loves [name_m]Lucius[/name_m] and I like it too, but it’s really close to my father’s name and the name of my dog :oops:

If you like [name_m]Lucius[/name_m], maybe consider [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]?

Another alternative for [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], could be [name_m]Kostas[/name_m]?

It is. I like it like I like the name [name_m]Antoni[/name_m]. If [name_m]Antoni[/name_m] weren’t my cousin’s name that would be in my top 5 probably (except husband doesn’t like of course!)
