I’m finally pregnant after months of trying. We are now trying to find the perfect name, one last time. We’re hoping for a girl to even things out a little, but we better come up with a name or two if the little one is another boy.
Our other childrens names are [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. We have a quite long list, but most of them feels ‘okay’ for both of us. It would be great if we both loved the same name, but who said naming babies was easy?!
We would like your help to narrow down the list. Maybe you see something we have missed, or have some other great advice.
We are also wondering how you think these names sounds with the rest of the bunch, and if some might be too mainstream or simply just too boring? Surname starts with a K if that matters.
Our not so short list:
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Casper[/name_m]
[name_m]Ian[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
You have great taste! Your children [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] are lucky! My faves for your sibset are bolded.
I love [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] with the rest of your children’s wonderful names.
OK, I’m going to do some elimination based on initials. 5 of your 6 names start with vowels, with E repeated. So I think you should go for a consonant name. And not repeat S. At least that narrows it down a little! So from your existing list, my favorites are:
I eliminated [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] as they’d bump up against the K surname. And [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] as crossing too much with [name_m]Edward[/name_m] ([name_m]Ed[/name_m] and [name_m]Ted[/name_m]). [name_m]Casper[/name_m] with a K surname might be too alliterative.
@[name_f]Pam[/name_f] - Thank you! Maybe should have said that our surname is [name_m]Knight[/name_m], so it starts with a K but doesn’t have that typical K sound. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is now off the list since both you and [name_u]Mischa[/name_u] pointed out how it sounds with [name_m]Edward[/name_m] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
