Too matchy-matchy?

Uh Oh. Saying it out loud to myself over and over again this morning, I’m wondering if the baby girl name we’ve picked out is too similar to our last name.

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] Christman

Opinions please. Does it flow ok? Is 2 syllables followed by 2 syllables ok?

I love [name_f]Corinne[/name_f], wish my husband did. If I had your last name I personally wouldn’t name my daughter [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]. I had a similar problem with my favorite girl name and I had to let it go for my daughter due in less than two weeks.

It’s perfectly fine. The most important thing is you adoring the name. You would not want to regret not using a name only because it doesn’t create a perfect sounding combo. Many, if not most, people do not have perfect sounding combos.

I think [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] Christman works just fine. It isn’t the “perfect” flow, but if [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is the name you love I absolutely think you should stick with it. All the best.

I don’t think it should be a deal-breaker, though for me it would put that particular contender at a disadvantage. I’d say play around with some other names, but if you really love [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] best, go for it. There are people out there named [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Samson[/name_m] who get along perfectly fine, so . . .

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] Christman sounds perfectly fine, very catchy. Some similar first and last names sound cartoonish, but others have a great ring to it- think [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_u]Mirren[/name_u], [name_m]Alan[/name_m] Rickman. I’d put this in the latter category.

It is similar, but i’ve seen worse. Maybe consider [name_f]Corinna[/name_f] or [name_f]Karina[/name_f] if you can’t get past the similarity. i have many names I love that to me sound too similar to go with my last name, my husband doesn’t even notice.

I think it works very well
