I’m in love with the names [name]Meave[/name] or [name]Mavis[/name] for a baby girl.
Only problem is that my name is [name]April[/name]. I instantly want to rule it out because of the matchy month soundingness. [name]April[/name]+[name]May/name?? I honestly hate my name and wouldn’t want to put a MONTH association on my child. I have said this name to many other people, but nobody has put the two together and thought [name]April[/name]+[name]May[/name]. It was so quick for me! Help! Am I being weird? haha
I would not have put that together at all. I don’t think the association is that strong at all.
[name]Ah[/name] I love the name [name]April[/name]! It’s so light and fresh, lovely name.
No I wouldn’t associate [name]Maeve[/name]/[name]Mavis[/name] with the month of [name]May[/name], I honestly don’t think the connection is that strong.
I love [name]Meave[/name] for a little girl, I don’t think it sounds too matchy with your name at all! Go with your heart and choose the name you love. Bte, [name]April[/name] is a beautiful name too
I wouldn’t connect [name]Maeve[/name]/[name]Mavis[/name] to [name]April[/name] at all. The only way I could see that happening is if you were going to use [name]Mae[/name]/[name]May[/name] as a nickname.
I adore the name [name]Mavis[/name] and I would never make the connection to the month. I actually know a [name]Mavis[/name] who was born in [name]April[/name]
I honestly don’t think it’s anything to worry about. I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it.
I was so confused at first. That connection didnt even click in my mind at first! You’ll be fine!
[name]Even[/name] if it were associated, its cute. I have a friend named [name]Rose[/name] with a daughter named [name]Daisy[/name]. It’s almost an honor. [name]Just[/name] a thought.
I second this.
I love [name]Maeve[/name]! It wouldn’t even cross my mind to make the connection with [name]April[/name].
Um, weird. Because I made the association immediately (looks like I’m alone there, though).
Not that I think it should stop you. [name]Maeve[/name] is an awesome name (a bit torn on [name]Mavis[/name]), and so is [name]April[/name] (I’m jealous). They’re lovely for a mother and daughter.
I didn’t occur to me either. [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Mavis[/name] are both recognizable names in their own right; I can’t imagine anyone connecting them with the month of [name]May[/name].
I love [name]Mavis[/name]. I love it before Hotel Transylvania but after watching I’m definitely in love.
It does have that [name]Mae[/name] sound to it but I don’t think I would have immediately connected it with the month (even next to your name).
If you love it, use it.
(While typing this I considered that if you had a daughter born in [name]May[/name] I might avoid [name]Maeve[/name] or [name]Mavis[/name] because then it does become a bit more obvious to me at least. Since you’d be more likely to put the two words together as in “This is [name]Mavis[/name], her birthday is [name]May[/name] 5th,”)
It’s a weak association. Go for it!!
You’re just overthinking it. I don’t think it’s matchy at all.
