Too Matchy?

[name]Don[/name]'t ask me why, but I have fallen for [name]Lenore[/name] recently.
It’s a lovely name, but it doesn’t go with my usual style, and I’m not a huge Poe fan either.
The only name I love that I can see it with is [name]Ever[/name]. [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] would be the cutest sisters!
But do you find it too matchy? EVERYONE knows [name]Lenore[/name] from “The Raven”, nEVERmore. And as i said, I’m not a. especially big Poe fan. What boys names would go well with [name]Lenore[/name] as well? I’m not even close to concieving, but just for my own thoughts, What would you name [name]Lenore[/name]'s brother or sister? Should it be somewhat old fashioned? [name]Lenore[/name] sounds old fashioned but it really has no histroy except the poem, so I think I could get away with a less historical name like [name]Ever[/name].

I’m assuming you’re talking about the mention of [name]Lenore[/name] in “The [name]Raven[/name].” That is by [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Allan[/name] [name]Poe[/name], not [name]Shakespeare[/name]. I don’t think [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] are the best match. From your signature, I think [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] would be better.

thats embarassing, fixed it! wasn’t really thinking straight :-? [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] do sound darling

Haha… Yes this exactly!!!

I didn’t put [name]Lenore[/name] with The [name]Raven[/name] at all, but I don’t think [name]Ever[/name] goes good with it at all. [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Waverly[/name] sounds cool together ([name]Waverly[/name] is kind of like [name]Everly[/name]). I also agree that [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] look good together as well. You could always use [name]Ever[/name] as a middle name, or pair [name]Ever[/name] with a name like it and made [name]Lenore[/name] the middle name.

I adore [name]Lenore[/name], but as I have an [name]Annabel[/name] ([name]Poe[/name]'s [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name]), it would be too much for us. Not only is [name]Lenore[/name] featured in The [name]Raven[/name], but there is a [name]Poe[/name] poem titled [name]Lenore[/name], as well. I would name siblings of [name]Lenore[/name] something like [name]Edmund[/name] and [name]Sybil[/name].

Lenore feels very vintage to me since it’s, among other things, a short form of classic Eleanor; Ever is indeed a pretty new appellation. I personally wouldn’t really pair them together… I think some of these old-fashioned suggestions like Edmund, Sybil, and your signature pick, Matilda, sound better with Lenore than more modern word like Ever or surnames like Waverly. (Seriously, Lenore and Matilda/Mollie are MADE for each other!! Love it!)

EDIT: Sorry, I would further add:
Lenore & Mavis/Maeve/May
Lenore & Ivy
Lenore & Faye
Lenore & Opal
Lenore & Margo(t)
Lenore & Alice
Lenore & Lucille/Lucy (a bit sing-songy but super cute)

I have to agree withe the above suggestions of [name]Lenore[/name] & [name]Matilda[/name] as siblings…they are definitely a great match.

I would also suggestion [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Valencia[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name].

I agree with previous posters, [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Lenore[/name] aren’t a great sibset. I love the suggestion of [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]! Or [name]Lenore[/name] and [name]Ireland[/name] (which is listed as one of your guilty pleasures).
