Too much alliteration?

I have loved the name [name]Emrys[/name] for years and years now. I’ve pretty much ruled it out as my SO’s last name is [name]Ellis[/name], however he has recently brought the name up and says that it actually sounds pretty good to him. I would love to use the name [name]Emrys[/name] but I think it’s just too much with the last name. So what are your thoughts on [name]Emrys[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]?

Honestly I do agree that it’s a bit much as a fn with your last name though I do like the name [name]Emrys[/name]. Perhaps as a mn?

It’s too similar.

  • both names are 2 syllables, with the accent on the first
  • both names start with the same vowel
  • both names end with the same vowel-consonant combo (“iss”)

E names are fine-- like, [name]Edward[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]-- but these are way too close.

Ha ha that’s what I thought too. He’s trying to convince me to use it on the basis that it sounds like a comic book characters name. Sigh.
