Hello, I love the name [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and came up with combos for them. I’d probably use Both as names for a second boy and for a second girl; As I already have names for both gender that I would use first. But I was just wondering If a sibset consisting of [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] would be way too Twilight-y?
Though, I thought, the franchise was probably just a thing for this generation and a passing one at that, so futures Generations (such as my children), wouldn’t have as much of an association. And the last generations; my mother for instance didnt get it at all and has never even seen one, so I think it might only be a bit repulsive to those of my generation.
What do you think?
What twilight pop into your mind upon hearing a brother And sister with these names?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think there would be a lot of teasing?
I think if you used only one, you would be fine, but using both would probably look like an intentional Twilight reference. If you really love the names, I wouldn’t let it stop you from using them.
I love both names; they’re sophisticated and familiar without being too popular.
What twilight pop into your mind upon hearing a brother and sister with these names?
Yes, my first thought it Twilight, but I don’t really think it’s a big deal (I don’t live in the US though; people might care more about it there).
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think there would be a lot of teasing?
I doubt it because, like you said, the next generation probably (hopefully?) won’t be interested/know much about Twilight. [name_m]Even[/name_m] then, I don’t see why it would be teasing potential (it’s not like you’re naming them [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m] or [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Leia[/name_f]).
I adore both names too. And I never read or watched Twilight. However I’m a bit older than most on here, so my opinion perhaps should not carry much weight. Still, I feel like the Twilight phenomenon is already fading into the background. For the kids, they may hear the occasional Twilight comment, but I can’t imagine it would lead to much teasing. If you truly love them, you shouldn’t let it deter you… as long as you don’t mind some people thinking you must have been big Twilight fans. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is one of my all time favorite combos I’ve seen on here, and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is super handsome as well.
I’ve read the books and seen the movies back when they came out, so I was reminded of Twilight.
However, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal! If I remember correctly, [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] aren’t a couple right? I’m pretty sure they’re just “siblings” or “family” or whatever they called it, which makes it way less problematic!
Furthermore, you said you would use those names for boy and girl #2? A sibset of say (looking at your sig) [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] does in no way scream Twilight. I doubt there would be any teasing and I doubt the kids would even catch the reference. I think my only hesitation would be that I wouldn’t use [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] for twins, but otherwise I think it’s just fine!
I agree - if [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] were your top two names and ended up being your only children (or twins), that would be a little bit too “Twilighty” for me. But as part of a bigger sibset, I don’t think it sticks out too much.
[name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] work well together [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
