Too much with the third middle name?

I thought we had the name finalized but the husband changed his mind at the last minute…we were going to FOR SURE go with [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Rhys[/name] but it’s now [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Miles[/name]. My question is, is making it [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Miles[/name] [name]Arne[/name] too much? [name]Arne[/name] is to honor my grandfather who just passed away from cancer 2 months ago. His name was [name]Arnold[/name] but I like [name]Arne[/name] and the meaning.

I don’t know that it’s too much. It’s very touching that you want to honor your grandfather in such a way; it seems like [name]Arne[/name] has more significance that [name]Miles[/name]. Would [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Arne[/name] be an option? Or [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Arno[/name]?

[name]Arne[/name] definitely has much more of a significance than [name]Miles[/name] although this may sound awful I don’t love the sound of [name]Arne[/name] or [name]Arno[/name] really I just want to honor my grandpa. I don’t know where that leaves me lol.

Not at all. It’s pretty common for boys to have a second middle name, especially if one is a family name. Besides, [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Miles[/name] [name]Arne[/name] isn’t a very long name. It is lovely, and so special to honour your grandfather that way.

Thank you not to mention the meaning of [name]Arne[/name] just fits my grandfather so perfect it makes it that much more special.

I understand completely. Since the meaning, ‘eagle,’ fit your grandfather so well, would you like to consider other ‘eagle’ names? It’s perfectly understandable, giving your son 2 middle names, but if you’re in the US it’s tough here since most forms, school registrations, official documents, computerized record keeping, etc don’t allot space for a 2nd middle.

[name]Arley[/name] = eagle meadow
[name]Arnett[/name] = little eagle
[name]Arvid[/name] = eagle tree
[name]Andor[/name] = “[name]Thor[/name]'s eagle” in old Norse
[name]Arend[/name] = Dutch form of [name]Arnold[/name]
Arundel = eagle valley
[name]Arnaud[/name] = French form

Does any of that make it better?

[name]Blade[/name] while I appreciate you looking all those up [name]Arne[/name] is what I think I will go with. To me the name itself is my way of honoring him while the meaning is just an added bonus.

Personally, I think [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Arne[/name] [name]Miles[/name] flows better. [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Arne[/name] blend into each other to become one long name (Milesarne). Since [name]Arne[/name] is more special to you, I would put that one in the second spot.

[name]Mischa[/name] I do agree [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Arne[/name] do kind of blend. My husband has mentioned [name]James[/name] as a middle as well although it sounds better it’s pretty darn popular and that doesn’t sit well with me. I’m at a loss for this baby’s name. [name]One[/name] second I have something I love and then next there’s just something not quite right about the name.

[name]Lennox[/name] itself isnt an overly popular name. [name]James[/name] is a nice stately classic. [name]Lennox[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Arne[/name] or [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Arne[/name] [name]James[/name] flor well (I assume you are pronouncing [name]Arne[/name] the traditional way, ‘Ar-nee,’ with 2 syllables). It’s a distinctive name and you son will love having that connection to his great-grandfather.

Yes I am pronouncing [name]Arne[/name] the traditional way. It may not seem like a big deal but the different spelling makes it a little more appealing to me. I just loved [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Miles[/name] so much more than [name]Lennox[/name] [name]James[/name] but now seeing how [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Miles[/name] [name]Arne[/name] kind of runs together. I just can’t believe how hard it is to name another boy. I knew by about 17 weeks what my firstborns name was. Here I am at 37 weeks with nothing set in stone except [name]Arne[/name]. -____-

I never thought about using my grandpa’s last name as a middle. It’s Wesling. Hubby threw out [name]Knox[/name] Wesling or [name]Knox[/name] Wesling [name]James[/name]. Thoughts on that? Is it too weird?

It’s not at all weird, but I really prefer [name]Lennox[/name]. It seems more sophisticated (and since [name]Knox[/name] is a Brangelina name, you wouldn’t have people constantly asking if you named your son after them).

[name]Lennox[/name] Wesling is a very distinguished name. I don’t think you’d need a third middle at all.

I think Wesling would be a very handsome middle name!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Lennox[/name] Wesling.

[name]How[/name] about [name]JUST[/name] [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Arnold[/name] :).

I don’t really like [name]Arnold[/name]. I prefer [name]Arne[/name] if I’m going to go that route…
