I think it’s great! Not too much for a little boy, because he could always go by [name]Sam[/name], [name]Sammy[/name] or [name]Ally[/name]. And for most of his life he’ll be grown up anyway and this [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Alistair[/name]/[name]Alasdair[/name] will serve him well 
I don’t think it’s too much at all, to be honest I find it rather regular and normal here in the UK and I actually know a [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Alistair[/name] and he’s lovely lad. However, this little lad goes mainly by [name]Sam[/name] and strangely I dislike [name]Sam[/name] but think [name]Samuel[/name] is gorgeous.
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Alistair[/name] is strong and classic, and [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Wood[/name] sounds fine.
That’s funny…I’m not crazy about [name]Sam[/name] either (it’s just okay) but I do adore [name]Samuel[/name]. I wish I could avoid [name]Sam[/name] altogether but I’m sure that will be impossible.
i wasnt quite sure how to vote… I really like the name [name]ALASDAIR[/name] for the nn [name]Dair[/name]!!! I think a little boy with the nn [name]Dair[/name] would be ADORABLE!!!
[name]Alasdair[/name] [name]Wood[/name] has great flow! Im not a hugs [name]Samuel[/name] fan… its just too popular where I am!
I love [name]Alasdair[/name] too but I’m afraid it’s a little too “different” around here (the South). I think nationwide [name]Samuel[/name] is pretty popular but it’s not so much in my city. I have three older girls in school and none of them know a [name]Samuel[/name]/[name]Sam[/name]. I only know one.
I wish I were brave enough to use [name]Alasdair[/name] but I’m a wuss.

I think [name]Alasdair[/name] would be fina almost anywhere… especially with nn’s like [name]Al[/name] or [name]Dair[/name]!

[name]Samuel[/name] is nice if its not popular where you are! my sons name is the same where I live… popular worldwide but not even in the top 50 where I live!
I love [name]Alasdair[/name]! I would never use it though, because I abhor the nickname [name]Al[/name]. The nickname [name]Dair[/name] is adorable, though!
