Too much?

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Raven[/name] [name]Barren[/name]

My DH wants to have all our kids middle names have “[name]Ray[/name]” in them. I really want the name [name]Winter[/name] for a middle name… do you think it is too much to put with [name]Cecily[/name]? [name]Barren[/name] is an incorrect spelling of our actual last name. It sounds the same though.

For the record I am starting to see that [name]Raven[/name] doesn’t go so well with our last name, but it is my favorite of the “ray” choices.

It won’t work, he wants the “ray” to be at the start of the middle name, like [name]Raven[/name], [name]Rain[/name], or [name]Rachel[/name]. (DDs middle name is [name]Rain[/name])

[name]Love[/name] it! I like [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Raven[/name]. The flow is fine i think. Her full name won’t be said very often, so I think the -en ending is no big deal. Personally, I don’t like double middle names, but it’s a nice way to compromise. I had a friend with two middle names, and she liked it cause she was the only one in our class with 4 initials

I was also thinking [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Raven[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barren[/name] sounds better. [name]Raven[/name] [name]Barren[/name] is just a bit much to my ear.

I for one don’t like two noun names together, so I would go with [name]Rachel[/name] or just [name]Rae[/name]. Also if you went with [name]Rae[/name], it might alleviate your concern with two middle names, as one is so short!

[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] are amazing.

I agree with the others that two noun names sounds a bit odd, not bad but then [name]Raven[/name] [name]Barren[/name] is very rhymey.
Also, though I love [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] when you put an R name right after [name]Winter[/name] is sort of runs together

[name]Reagan[/name]? [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Reagan[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Winter[/name] is also nice.
[name]Raelyn[/name]?

I think of a [name]Raven[/name] in [name]Sicily[/name] in the winter. I think that two word names in the middle doesn’t work, especially with a first name that is a place name when said aloud & a last name that’s also a word name when said aloud. Also barren, winter & raven are pretty dark imagery-wise, which is totally fine if that’s your thing…but I thought I would point it out in case you didn’t notice that connection.

Would you consider [name]Ramona[/name] a [name]Ray[/name] name? I think adding a less word-like name into the mix would help.
[name]Cicily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Barren[/name]?

I agree with this. [name]Both[/name] the sound and the connotation are too much, [name]IMO[/name].

I think [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Rae[/name] would be a nice compromise. [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Raven[/name] [name]Barren[/name] is a bit much in my opinion, but if it is what you love and the only way to compromise it would work.

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Raven[/name] sounds like a kid looking out the window during winter and say “[name]Winter[/name] [name]Raven[/name]!!!” I don’t like two nouns together in general since they tend to sound like My [name]Little[/name] Pony names…

[name]Raven[/name] and [name]Barren[/name] also clashes

What about:

[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Ray[/name]/[name]Rae[/name] [name]Barren[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Aryana[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barren[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Desiree[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barren[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] [name]Raya[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barren[/name]

I like [name]Rachel[/name]! [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Barren[/name].

I think that the [name]Raven[/name] with the [name]Winter[/name] with the [name]Barren[/name] is a little too much for me. [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Barren[/name] are already very cool/cold feeling provoking names and [name]Raven[/name] just seems to add to that. Very dark. lol
[name]Rachel[/name] lightens it all up a bit. In fact, so would just plain [name]Ray[/name].

Blah, so I didn’t even notice it was like a string of words all put together. Our last name sounds exactly like [name]Barren[/name], it isn’t actually the word [name]Barren[/name], but still. I decided to just let [name]Winter[/name] go. I don’t want to step on DHs dream of having all the kids have [name]Ray[/name] in their middle name, and I am not particularly found of two middle names, so If it can’t be [name]Winter[/name] [name]Raven[/name], then I don’t want it at all. Also, [name]Winter[/name] in the first place, while it works for other people, just doesn’t work for us because flipped around, like on tests or what have you it would be, “[name]Barren[/name], [name]Winter[/name]” … I didn’t see that before. le sigh Thank you Taz.

Would your husband be into [name]Ray[/name] in the first name this time?

[name]Rachel[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barron[/name] or [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Barron[/name] could give you nn [name]Ray[/name] in the first name spot. That way he gets [name]Ray[/name], you get [name]Winter[/name] & the [name]Barron[/name], [name]Winter[/name] thing gets avoided…wdyt?

Good luck!

I agree with this, it was my first thought when reading your initial post.
