Too much?

Arthur Beowulf.

As in King Arthur & the heroic poem. Is it too epic? I paired the names before realising the connotations, now it bothers me but I still like the name

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think so. I know and know of several people named [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] so it’s not a strictly an epic name to me.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m] is great and I can certainly see it on a child and an adult.

I consider [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] a classic name and tend to forget the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] association. It also feels like a nice mix of common and uncommon to me. So I’d say no!

Nothing is too epic for me

No, I honestly think it’s fine. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a well established, relatively common name that isn’t just associated with the legend. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m] is a great name!

Not too epic for me! [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a familiar name a lot of places, so it works for me.

I like it! As others have said, [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is in widespread enough use in various countries and languages that it doesn’t have the same level of drama as [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m]. They’re a great combo!

I think [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m] is always too much :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But I don’t mind it

Should be fine then! Though I would assume his parents were really into legends and things.

It does feel very noble and adventurous, but I like it for you! While the [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] association (as well as real life royal Arthurs throughout history) is apparent to me, it is a well-used name with many connotations.

I don’t necessarily think so. [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] isn’t the first thing I think of when hearing [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], I actually don’t think of anything. I actually think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] might be one of the few names that can carry a middle name like [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m] and without becoming a little too much.

I agree with others that it’s not too much because of how mainstream [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is. I actually don’t think I’ve met a child named [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] before. It’s a dad/grandad name to me, but that’s certainly not a bad thing. It may be ready for a reboot!

I love it. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a safe and more traditional name to balance out [name_m]Beowulf[/name_m]. Very cool
