Too similar for sibset? Other ideas??

Trying to come up with names for our 4th baby (3rd girl) and struggling to come up with names we love. I’ve posted before but we’re still struggling to find the perfect name and could use all the help we can get.

The middle name is going to be either [name_f]Melissa[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. My husband suggested [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but our second daughter’s name is [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. Are these too similar?

Some other names we like are [name_f]Marin[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_u]Laney[/name_u], and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. Thoughts? Any other names that come to mind that we may not have thought of?

If it helps, our son’s name is [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Mark[/name_m] and our daughter’s are [name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u].

I don’t think [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Reese[/name_u] are too similar. I really like [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and I think it fits with your other kids’ names better than [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], or having [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a first name. The endings of [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] are pretty similar, but if you were going to be using a nickname for either one, it shouldn’t be a problem?

I also think [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be lovely, and it would fit well, too.

[name_f]Marielle[/name_f] is a little close to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] but it’s usable. From your list I like [name_f]Marin[/name_f] and [name_u]Lane[/name_u] with [name_u]Laney[/name_u] as a nickname. [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] is pretty but a bit close to [name_m]Adrian[/name_m].

Other ideas:

[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Mairead[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]

They are similar enough that I personally wouldn’t use it because it would bother me. Full disclosure: my husband thinks I have way to many “ridiculous name rules”.
I have a Marliese, and that has basically ruled out [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] for me.

From your list, I love:
[name_f]Marin[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] works. They do have matchy endings, but different sounds overall. However… you have some other fabulous, distinctive options! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Marin[/name_f]/[name_f]Maren[/name_f] and [name_u]Laney[/name_u]/[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. These would each be great with [name_f]Carys[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], but [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] & [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are quite similar. Same thing with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] & [name_m]Adrian[/name_m].

[name_m]Adrian[/name_m], [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Marin[/name_f] (or [name_f]Maren[/name_f])
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m], [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_u]Laney[/name_u] (or [name_u]Delaney[/name_u])

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback and new ideas.

I absolutely love [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] but so far haven’t been able to sell my husband on it…

I also love [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] but not sure about it with my last name which also starts with a B…

My one concern is because they both end in elle/belle that they could end up with rhyming nicknames.
