I’m pregnant with my third (a surprise). I am loving the name [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] for a boy or girl but am thinking I may need to be sensible if it’s a girl and use [name_f]Willa[/name_f], which I love too, with nickname [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m]. But my daughter is [name_f]Mila[/name_f]- pronunced My-la.
They’re too similar though, right?! My-la and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]? They will be 6 years apart if that matters
To me, yes, [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] are too similar. But I think you could use [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and use the nickname [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m]. Good luck!
I don’t actually think they’re too similar because the I sounds are different. I think you should go for it if that’s what you love.
They do have different beginning sounds, my and will, but both end with -la, and [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] look a lot alike. I personally think they are too similar but I don’t think it’s an unusable sibset necessarily
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] and…
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Winny[/name_f]
Wimsy
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
[Name_f]Eleni [/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elke[/name_f]
They are very similiar when written down, but not when they are pronounced (because of the way you pronounce [name_f]Mila[/name_f]).
I think [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] could stand on its own. Sisters [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] sounds unique and fun. Yes she’ll probably never meet another [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m], but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe if it was a way over the top extreme name It would be a bad thing, but if you feel the little one is a [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m], I think you should trust your gut. And I assume [name_f]Mila[/name_f] goes by [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and not a nn so it’s not like [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] will feel left out by not having a longer formal name.
This is my thought as well.
Thanks for all the feedback, I appreciate it I have lots of girl name ideas but those were at the top.
I think they work just fine.
