Hubby is now questioning / wondering if they look or sound too close to Persephone for siblings, given that they share multiple letters in common and that her nickname (Seph) sounds quite close.

My current thought is that, were we to use one or other, I’d probably use Seraphina, as the -a makes it more different to Persephone. Keen for your thoughts and comments, though!
I wouldn’t use them both as almost palindromic but people name their kids similar sounding names all the time (because they like what they like!) and I’m a bit nutty about differences. I think if you don’t use Sephie for Persephone - maybe Percy, Perrie, Poppy or Effie instead, should be OK, esp with A ending Seraphina.

I think [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] / [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] make a great sibset! I truly love it

I do prefer [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] to [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] (if that’s something that’s being figured out still) and I think having -ina vs -ine will also help any similarities you maybe feeling. I’m editing through this and realized you also made this point. That’s so funny!

If [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is nicknamed Seph, I think a good nickname option for [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] or [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] would be Phi (Fe), Phin / Phine or Phina !!

I think even [name_f]Pia[/name_f] works well! You could even do Seri (like Sarie for Sara) which I don’t think is too close to Sephie but may feel like it

I’ve also heard of people doing Airy / Eiry or [name_f]Era[/name_f] as a nickname for it! Not quite on the nose, but I love longer names because of all the nicknames that tend to come from them!
When you posted the other day about [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], I actually thought to myself – that’s too similar to [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]! So that initial instinct is how I’ve voted.

I do think if you have daughters close together in age, they would be mixed up a lot in people’s heads [name_f][/name_f]— unless you lead with nicknames and use nicknames most of the time.

I personally think varying the syllables would best way to create more distance between the two. So all things being equal, I’d choose [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. But if you prefer [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] over [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] for any reason, it’s not a huge a difference.
We did think of this and discussed whether [name_f][/name_f]- if it were a name that stayed at the top of our list [name_f][/name_f]- maybe it’s more suited to a baby further down the track rather than the next one (were they a girl), just to have a little breathing space!
