I really like the names [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Autumn[/name]. However we have two nieces who are [name]Kira[/name] and Aunna. [name]Do[/name] you think that they sound too similar? I would like to know if I should rule them out or keep them on the list. Thanks!
[name]Cora[/name] and [name]Kira[/name] are identical save one vowel; and I’ve never heard Aunna but I would imagine it’s frequently misheard as [name]Autumn[/name] or [name]Audra[/name]. So yes, too similar.
I would probably rule them out as they are very similar.
Yes too similar.
I disagree! I think if you love a name, use it. They are not that similar.
I’d be worried as appearing as a copy cat! Maybe if you use one it’s okay, but both?
I would only be using one, if we have a girl! And I never made the connections until I started thinking about names we didn’t want to duplicate. Thanks for the feedback. I’m leaning toward [name]Cora[/name], but maybe a longer variation of it such as [name]Coralie[/name] or [name]Coraline[/name]. But we still have about a month until we find out the sex for sure and even then we still have to agree on the name! Thanks again!
I think it would be fine to use [name]Cora[/name]. Other [name]Cora[/name]-adjacent names could be [name]Corinne[/name] or [name]Corinna[/name].
Is Aunna pronounced like [name]Ana[/name] (did they use the u to get the ah sound)? If so I think you could do [name]Autumn[/name] as well.
Yes, Aunna is pronounced [name]Ah[/name]-na. And I just posed [name]Corrine[/name] to DH, so he’s going to mull that one over Plus I think [name]Cori[/name] is a cute nm for a girl.
