Too similar?

We have a son [name]Elliot[/name]&there is a name that we love, but we’re not sure if it’s too similar. Please, give us your honest opinion…We keep coming back to it…
[name]Emilee[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
The [name]Lee[/name] part is after my dad,so if we decide to go with it this is the only spelling that we like…

I don’t think that [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Emilee[/name] are too similar. They are a little cutesy and matchy-matchy, but in a way that I find pleasant. The only problem I can think of is if you end up having other children. I imagine you’d be able to find another name or two to go with these (perhaps [name]Ethan[/name] a boy, [name]Evelyn[/name] for a girl, if you decide to stick with E’s and similar length), but if you have your heart set on a name that is very dissimilar, that child may stick out like a sore thumb.

I do have a hard time seeing a standard spelling of [name]Elliot[/name] next to a non-traditional spelling of [name]Emilee[/name], so I still feel the need to put in a good word for [name]Emily[/name], as I believe that spelling would still be a suitable way to honor your father. Stylistically, [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Emily[/name] are a wonderful classic pair. [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Emilee[/name] don’t fit together as nicely…[name]Elliot[/name] is classic, while [name]Emilee[/name] is a modern take that provides a very different image and feel than her traditional counterpart.

I love [name]Emily[/name] ([name]Emilee[/name]) [name]Claire[/name]…such a nice combo!

[name]May[/name] I suggest [name]Emma[/name]-[name]Lee[/name] [name]Clare[/name]? Because the [name]Emilee[/name] spelling is very offputting (especially next to something fairly classic like [name]Elliot[/name]).
