Are the names [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (pronounced “[name_f]Jen[/name_f]-uh-veev”) and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] too similar to use for sisters? (Not twins)
What if they were typically called [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and only rarely called by their full first names?
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] are fairly similar when written, but when said out loud they aren’t terribly close at all. They start with the same letter, but they have different sounds, they don’t rhyme, none of their syllables match, and they don’t end the same. Plus, [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] are very cute together and sound nothing alike. I’d say yes!
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] are adorable together…I would just avoid calling them [name_f]Gen[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] would work nicely, because they are not close at all.
I think they’re fine. Very different sounds. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] has the J-sound, [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] the G-sound. I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is a better match than [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] + [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
I don’t think they’re too similar at all! Sure, they both start with G and are three syllables, but they sounds nothing alike. The Gs are pronounced differently so even if they do start with the same letter, they don’t start with the same sound, and that’s what’s important I think. The nicknames [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] make them even less similar, and they simply sound so cute together.
I don’t think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] sound alike at all! I think they do sound really nice together though and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] sound adorable together. So sweet they would make great sisters.
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] are amazing together! Might be worth it for the nicknames alone. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] are actually quite pretty together. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is another idea. [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] sound lovely and have a bit more contrast.
