Recently I decided I liked the name [name_u]Skye[/name_u] enough to consider adding it to my short list for girls. My fiance’s brother is named [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] though. Would that that be too similar to have in the family? My fiance doesn’t think it’d be a big deal but I’m wary of it.
Also I have [name_u]Rain[/name_u] on my short list, would [name_u]Rain[/name_u] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u] go together or would they be too cliche as a sib set?
[name_u]Rain[/name_u] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u] together might be a bit much unless that is what you want to go for. I grew up with siblings named [name_f]Shadow[/name_f], [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Stormy[/name_f] and they pulled it off.
I think using [name_u]Skye[/name_u] as a first or middle name would be a great way to use a name you love and honour Uncle [name_u]Skylar[/name_u]. You know he would have to spoil that little girl.
I do think [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Rain[/name_u] are too much if you’re not into that sort of “hippie” vibe. If you are, then they’re adorable together. If Uncle [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] is someone you’d like to honor, then I think [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is a cute name to do it. If not, they’re very similar, so if you’re not wanting an honor name, maybe go for something else.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] with a [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] in the family is fine.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Rain[/name_u] are too much together in a sibset.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Rain[/name_u] feel too similar for me, except as mn. [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is very similar to [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], but it would be a cute way to honour him.
They’d be too similar for me, also I’d worry that the brother might think you named the baby after him. If that’s your plan, I don’t see the problem, if not, you might want to rethink it.
[name_u]Rain[/name_u] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u] would be too close and you’d be setting yourself up to continue a theme. Maybe use one or the other as a middle instead?
