Too similar?

Hello everyone!

I’m currently writing a story in which the main character is named [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Edie[/name_f] too similar of a name for another important character in the story? Thank you so much for any help!

I don’t think so. I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] could work as a name, and if you don’t think so, you could use it, but if you do, you could always do [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].

Definitely not! Too close would be like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisie[/name_f] (actually chosen by a friend of mine who refused to change them even after my comments). [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] are both fabulous names!

Not at all similar. Great names, different sounding. If they both started with an E or A or rhymed, then there would be a problem.

Thank you everyone who responded! I’m going to keep the names [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f]!

I don’t think [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] are a problem. They’re both beautiful names. Too similar would be [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and [name_f]Tammy[/name_f].
