Too similar?

I need your honest opinion!
Would it be too weird to have 2 kids named [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u]? I love both the names but they are so similar to each other that it might not work. I love [name_u]Emery[/name_u] for a girl and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] for a boy or a girl. What do you think?

A bit too similar for me

I think they’re kinda cute together, but since both are unisex, I’d use them on 2 boys or 2 girls, to avoid confusion as to which one is your daughter and which is your son.

You’re so right about that! Thank you!

To me they are too similar but I can see the appeal of both names.

I agree with emsky on this one, similar but not so much so that they can’t be cute together; while you definitely could still use these names for a boy and girl, they may be best for two boys or two girls. You may want to decide which is your favorite and explore other name possibilities in the event of a brother and sister pair.

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] are very adorable and great, but that’s a tough one. They are quite similar. Either way you go about it - naming your daughter [name_u]Emery[/name_u] & other son/daughter [name_u]Avery[/name_u], you will probably confuse them at times. It just naturally happens with similar names - it happens in my own family  But it’s no real big deal. I think you should go for it if it’s what you like most. That’s a cute pair. I like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] for a girl & [name_u]Emery[/name_u] especially too.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] them together! [name_m]Just[/name_m] use very feminine middle name and very masculine middle name for each one. Adorable for siblings.

Too similar to me.

Let’s be honest. People (including parents) will call kids the wrong names no matter what their siblings names are. I’ve even been called my cousins names. I think [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] are both adorable and totally sweet as siblings! I like them both for girls!

I think they sound great together, but that might be because they’re both names that I’ve been considering since I first heard them when I was 8.

I love both names for boys, agree that it could get confusing if one was a boy and one a girl

Maybe use one for the first name of kid #1 and the other for the middle name of kid #2?

I think they’re too close. A good test is to shout them across the house - is it hard to tell which one you’re shouting? If so, they’re too close.

I don’t think they’re too similar, but I do like them both!

I have a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and a [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. I find we confuse their names a lot and people mix them up a lot.

I think they’d make cute siblings
