We already have two girls, [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and baby #3, a boy, is on the way. I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], but the el sounds in [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] seem very similar so I am not sure. I also like [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], but I like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] more.
I think they are different enough. if they both started with “el” I would say it was to close.
It isn’t a problem [name_f]IMO[/name_f], they do share -el sound but [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] has -el sound too yet all three names are unique beside that tiny detail.
I think they sound wonderful! The sounds aren’t too similar at all, especially since they only share one syllable in common, and the names themselves are long. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] fits in beautifully with your girls. Honestly, I’d be more concerned about the Kardashian association with [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] together. Another reason why I prefer [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
I think they are beautiful together.
I see what you mean about the repeating -[name_f]El[/name_f] sounds. I’m not a fan of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] with your girls names, nor am I a fan of [name_u]Mason[/name_u] in general. Of the two I would probably choose [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. This thread should be moved to the Boy [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names forum
I think it’s actually a really nice tie-in!
I don’t think it matters if the “e” sounds similar, because the names are so different. I think [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is a great choice, and sounds wonderful with [name_u]James[/name_u].
Definitely not too similar on paper! If you say them really similarly then maybe consider a switch up but I think they sound fine
I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] are lovely together, the ‘el’ sounds are different and the emphasis is on different syllables so rather than being too close it’s actually sweet that they all have the ‘el’ in common!
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you use the nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f] for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]? If not, the consonance is rather nice and not that matchy.
Ooh, I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] james! It is not similar at all to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is also great as well!
Both your names are gorgeous. It took me a solid 30 seconds to see where you saw the similarities between [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. I love [name_u]Mason[/name_u], as well. I don’t think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are similar at all.
I thought you were having a girl? Judging by this thread.
A couple of days ago, you were supposedly expecting your first child, trying to decide between [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and others. Then, you were adding [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] to your already existing group of three: [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f].
These forums are searchable, and the same users answer most questions. We’re a relatively small group. There is no need to pretend to be expecting when you aren’t. We are very, very open to discussing names for the sake of collecting. Many of us aren’t expecting at any given time. We just love names. Please join in the conversation respectfully and honestly.
Not an issue at all, as far as I’m concerned. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names!
