Too similar?

I love the name [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. Have had it as a potential for my whole pregnancy. The thing that is holding me back is the fact my oldest child is [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. Are they too close for siblings? I also have a daughter [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. I keep going back and forth thinking the sib set sounds funny to thinking their names won’t be said together forever. So hard to decide!!! Thanks for your opinion.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I think it’s fine. They both start w/the long ‘i’ sound, but end different enough that they don’t seem too close. Especially if [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is the only name your love, or the one that you love the most. I wouldn’t let it be a deal breaker. It’s a beautiful name.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you call [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] by a nickname? If she goes by [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] I think it’s too close to [name_f]Isla[/name_f], if not then it’s fine.

I think you could get away with it but for me, [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] are too close

I think it’s fine. Most non-name nerds do not think about sibling names being too close. I know several families that have multiple children with -son, Mc-, and -ana names.

I think they’re fine!

[name_f]Imo[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] are too close, but most people outside of name nerd forums aren’t going to bat an eye.

I think they are fine because they only share the same beginning. Names that rhyme like [name_u]Shawn[/name_u] and [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], for me, are too close.
