We’re having trouble with boys name, and recently stumbled across 0chre. Earthy, nature, a bit longer/fuller than [name_u]Oak[/name_u]. We thought it might even be the one - but then the doubts came, as they tend to do for me. Impressions and opinions?
If you could please spell it with a zero ‘0’ instead of an ‘O’ for googling privacy, that would be much appreciated
I agree with your take one 0chre. It’s earthy and rich and I think it’s a very underrated color/nature name. Paired with a familiar and classic middle it would be so handsome!
I am a little torn on this one- I like the appearance, the imagery, and the general vibe I get from 0chre. I think [name_u]Oak[/name_u]/[name_m]Oakes[/name_m] would be a fantastic nickname for it! But I feel sort of hung up on the way it sounds; not sure what it is. Maybe it just needs to grow on me a little more! Overall, I wouldn’t think it too odd if I met a little 0chre.
Thankyou! I know what you mean - there is something about the sound which I wonder about too. Whether the good points of the name are enough to select it, I’m not sure.
I too, like the overall meaning but personally, I find it too close to the word ogre in sound, especially during junior high/middle school silliness. [name_m]Oakes[/name_m] is such a handsome name and a better choice [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
I really like the idea of using 0chre! I didn’t even think of ogre until the above poster mentioned it. I do think [name_m]Oakes[/name_m] is a great choice as well- so handsome and nature-y.
Very interesting name. It reminds me of a cross between acre and oak, so it really does feel earthy. I think I like it! If I meant an 0chre I wouldn’t bat an eye, I would find it very intriguing and unusual, but ultimately handsome.
I appreciate all your thoughts so much! Thank you.
It’s funny because lying in bed last night before reading the ‘ogre’ comments, I finally realised that it was this word the 0chre is very similar to. It really is unfortunate, because the name seems to have so much going for it.
I feel that [name_u]Oak[/name_u] and [name_m]Oakes[/name_m] don’t feel quite long enough for us in the front, but middle is still an option.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you say 0chre?
I’m thinking……………
Okra or okro, known in many English-speaking countries as ladies’ fingers or ochro, is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods. Wikipedia
I’m not sure if anyone has pointed this out because I didnt read through all four pages, but when I hear it, I’m sorry to say that all I can think is ogre. I do want to like it, though!
