Any names you like, any you dislike? And why?
Any middle name suggestions?
I’m always looking for name that work well internationally, so if you have suggestions for me, I’d love to see them
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] – Once upon a time I considered [name_f]Alice[/name_f] to be rather dated, but nowadays though I still see that classic and classy charm, it works on a contemporary child too. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would fit in with the other similarly classic/popular decades ago type names ([name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] etc) but still has that lightness to her than many such names in that same style don’t. I’m a bit fan of the Wonderland aesthetic and madness/nonsense, so [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a good link to that.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] – While I love the sound of this one, I do worry about the potential ‘Oh, feel ya’ tormenting potential. That said, it is a gorgeous name and perhaps that teasing isn’t as strong as it is in my own mind.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] – I love her a lot, and definitely prefer her over [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] – Right now, it’s all ‘Frozen’ but I don’t think that’s a big deal. She’s a lovely little dear.
[name_f]Calista[/name_f] – I like it, and prefer it with the single L.
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] – This would be one of the antiquated names that I do not like.
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] – Not so fond of this either as I find it dated. I’d prefer just [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] – I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] upfront, yet [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] in the middle.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] – [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] – A bit showy and pretentious, though it is a nice name. I’d prefer it in the middle.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] – classy and sweet.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] – I imagine you’d have a difficult time getting people to say VEE instead of VY.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - I love everything about it.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - Feels royal and magical at the same time, I love it.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] - I also prefer [name_f]Flora[/name_f] to [name_f]Florence[/name_f]. Sweet and airy.
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - I used to dislike it, but now it’s growing on me.
[name_f]Calista[/name_f] - I think I prefer it spelled with one L. Either way, it’s not my cup of tea, but would make an interesting choice. I like the nickname [name_u]Cali[/name_u].
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] - A bit too old-ladyish for my liking, but still lovely.
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - Nice, but I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - I like it, but much prefer spelled [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is a bit too dramatic for me.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - Sweet and gentle, it’s growing on me. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful, too.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - #1 on my own list.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - Feels fun and serious at the same time, I love it.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - I never liked the sound of [name_f]Viola[/name_f], sorry! It’s a great name, though.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. It’s classic and beautiful.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - I’m not a fan of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. I don’t know why though.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] (not [name_f]Florence[/name_f]) - Very pretty and I much prefer it over [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f].
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]/[name_f]Calista[/name_f] - I’d spell it with two ll’s, it looks fuller that way. It’s certainly nice and has a unique appeal.
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] - too old ladyish
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - [name_m]Leo[/name_m]-noor? It’s nice. I prefer [name_f]Leanor[/name_f] though (Luh-noor)
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], but prefer the [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - Can only think of the fruit.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - I love it!
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] (vee-O-la) - Like it alot.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]- Classic, pretty, not super popular but known
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]-Beautiful, potentially might have to be spelled out loud alot
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] (not [name_f]Florence[/name_f]) -I like it, feminine without being over-the-top, much prefer [name_f]Flora[/name_f] to [name_f]Florence[/name_f] as well
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]- Super pretty, but with all the Frozen hype it might go up in popularity
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]/[name_f]Calista[/name_f]-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this! Has such an interesting sound. I wouldnt shorten it to [name_f]Calli[/name_f]-it doesnt do the name justice
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] -Meh, still a little too old lady, but I have a feeling its growing out of that stage
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f]-Interesting sound, I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! One of my personal faves
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f]-(see [name_f]Juliette[/name_f])
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]-So cute! Idk if this even matters to you, but it might be a pain to write out and there arent a ton of nicknames
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]- So classy yet spunky
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] (vee-O-la)- I like it alot! A vintage name with lots of charm, might have pronunciation issues
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. I don’t think anyone would pronounce [name_f]Viola[/name_f] the way you want on the first try unless i’s have a different sound in [name_m]German[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] least favorites are [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] because I don’t like fruit or flower names.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is growing on me.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - I personally do not care for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] (not [name_f]Florence[/name_f]) - I feel neutral about [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - I should love [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], it is very much me, but I cannot shake [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] the cow. I think of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] the cow when I hear both [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is another one I would love. Stupid cow.
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]/[name_f]Calista[/name_f] - I do not care for [name_f]Callista[/name_f].
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] - I feel neutral about [name_f]Ida[/name_f].
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - At first I thought these might have been a typo. I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is okay.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is such a gorgeous name. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is growing on me, it is very sweet.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - An old fashioned charmer, love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is so sweet and pretty.
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] (vee-O-la) - I do not care for [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - like
[name_f]Leonor[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], but it’s a pretty name
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - I prefer the simpler [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Callista[/name_f] - meh, I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - so connected to the character for me that it’s hard to view in a pleasant light
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - meh, I like the idea of it but I don’t like any of the nn’s
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - too wheezy for me
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - not fond but I imagine it’s popularity will jump due to that movie
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] - sounds like the bud of a joke
I like all of these names, but be aware that with the unusual pronunciation of [name_f]Viola[/name_f], some people might automatically think you named your daughter after an instrument. I think it’s still usable, though.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - love. I have [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] on my list.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - love

@pemdas "i"s do have a very different sound in German and in most other European languages as well. I think it wouldn’t bother me if people mispronounced the name sometimes, since I’d usually be the one itroducing but do you think people would spell it right when you tell them the name?
Thanks to all of you for your opinions. I like Eleanor but prefer Leonor since it is the Spanish version which I fell in love with.
Leonore is beautiful too but does not sound the same in German which is a bummer.
I’m going to look through your suggestions later since I’m on my phone right now.
