[name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] makes me picture a middle-aged woman- not a name for a baby. [name]Sophie[/name] is a name that will grow with your daughter, while [name]Diana[/name] seems like it was already older.
I like [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name] because my sisters name is [name]Sophia[/name]. I picked this one because the other does sound a little older sounding but if you want to use [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] go go with it.
[name]Sophie[/name] pros:
It’s modern sounding
It has a softer sound [name]Sophie[/name] Cons:
Doesn’t sound like a full name
Doesn’t fit that well with your sibset
Super popular [name]Diana[/name] pros:
Goes will with your last name
Goes well with your sibset
[name]Princess[/name]
Not as common [name]Diana[/name] cons:
sounds dated
Personally, I’d go with [name]Diana[/name]. And being dated doesn’t really make a name unusable, imo. It makes it a name, which I think scares away a lot of nameberries (including me, sometimes )
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] goes best with the classic names you already have. [name]Diana[/name] is lovely, but pairing it with [name]Mary[/name] does seem a bit drab. [name]Do[/name] you have any other middle names in mind? Maybe a flower name to go with [name]Rose[/name]? [name]How[/name] about [name]Diana[/name] [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Diana[/name] [name]Lily[/name]?
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name] for me! It’s such a timeless, refreshing combo, and I think [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Rose[/name], and [name]Sophie[/name] are great together. I think [name]Diana[/name] stylistically might fit better with [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Peter[/name], and [name]Rose[/name], but [name]Mary[/name] really doesn’t do anything to rejuvenate the combo… While [name]Sophie[/name]'s been used more modernly, I do like that [name]Diana[/name] grounds it. I don’t think you could go wrong with either, though!
Thanks! As far as middle names for [name]Diana[/name] if you have better ideas then I’m all ears! Not a particular fan of [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Violet[/name]. We had [name]Laura[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Anne[/name], [name]Victoria[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] also on the list none of which I thought sounded right. I have considered [name]Diana[/name] [name]Sophie[/name] but it just feels the wrong way around to me! - I may be overthinking though… Ideas for [name]Diana[/name] ? Clendon?
[name]Even[/name] though I’m a [name]Diana[/name], I think [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name] Clendon sounds better or maybe [name]Diana[/name] [name]Sophie[/name]. [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] just sounds so old…
Also, I found it kind of funny if you had a [name]Diana[/name] and a [name]Rose[/name] since my name is [name]Diana[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. But that’s my bias getting in the way…
Hmm what do you think of these [name]Diana[/name] combos:
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] Clendon
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Eve[/name] Clendon
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Joyce[/name] Clendon - I love this! Fruitful contribution by DH - unsure if he was joking or not though…
I think [name]Diana[/name] is beautiful and sounds more grown up and sophisticated for an adult. [name]Sophie[/name] is cute - but it sounds juvenile and [name]Sophie[/name] / [name]Sophia[/name] is SO popular.
I agree with jame1881’s pros and cons. Plus, I think that [name]Diana[/name] goes much better with [name]Rose[/name], [name]Peter[/name], and [name]Timothy[/name]. I think [name]Sophie[/name] clashes with those names.
Also, I like [name]Diana[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Diana[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (I think that sounds a bit softer and goes better with [name]Diana[/name] than [name]Mary[/name]), [name]Diana[/name] [name]Louise[/name], [name]Diana[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Diana[/name] [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Diana[/name] [name]Christine[/name], [name]Diana[/name] [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Diana[/name] [name]Ruth[/name].
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name] is prettier to me, and it also seems to flow nicer. [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] sounds dated (Well, to me [name]Mary[/name] sounds dated, so that might be it). While [name]Diana[/name] is a pretty name, I can’t see it on a baby, toddler, etc. [name]Sophie[/name] isn’t too popular yet ([name]Even[/name] though [name]Sophia[/name] is) and it has a nice sound.
[name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name] Clendon- [name]Sophie[/name] is pretty but trendy right now. I don’t see it with your other kids names. It sands out as a youngest child that got the trendy name.
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] Clendon- [name]Diana[/name] is so beautiful! I think it is so fresh again! [name]Diane[/name] I think is dated but [name]Diana[/name] is more classic and makes a lot of people think of the wonder [name]Princess[/name] [name]Diana[/name]! [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] is amazing!
[name]Sophie[/name] is a pretty name, just wayyyy to trendy for me right now. I would choose [name]Diana[/name], although agree with others that a different middle name would make it a bit more youthful sounding.
I love [name]Diana[/name], just not with [name]Mary[/name]. Here are some ideas:
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] (though maybe not since your other daughter is named [name]Rose[/name]?)
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Juno[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Diana[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
They’re both very nice, but I would choose [name]Sophie[/name] [name]Diana[/name]. [name]Sophie[/name] is a nice twist from the extremely popular name [name]Sophia[/name]. You still have the beautiful name [name]Diana[/name]. [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] is pretty too, but the combination sounds a bit outdated. I would like [name]Diana[/name] [name]Sophie[/name] better. You can’t go wrong with either of your names, though. Maybe wait until you meet your baby girl, then decide if she seems more like a [name]Sophie[/name] or a [name]Diana[/name]!
