I am redoing my boy name list since I was not happy with the list I had before…I only loved two or three names. Thanks to all the berries I have a lot of new loves and my list is so long! Let me know which ones are your favorites and which ones you’d lose! Thanks!
I love the majority of these names ! If I had to be overly critical and cut a few I would lose ;
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] - I love this name but the connections to the serial killer tv show are a little too prevalent still
Baker - this is a really common surname in my area and everyone on any sport team is called by their last name for what seems like their whole life
Booker - I want to love this name but it rhymes with hooker and I just see so much teasing
Atlas - I prefer [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and [name_f]Atti[/name_f], but I just think of maps and the trucking company
Jasper - I grew up with a few Kids with the surname , so it’s hard for me to envision as a given name
Best of your list:
[name_u]Archer[/name_u]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_u]Atlas[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]Callahan[/name_u]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
Arlo
[name_u]Archer[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_u]Greyson[/name_u] (although I personally prefer the [name_u]Grayson[/name_u] spelling)
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
I will proudly admit that I love ‘hipster’ names
Lose:
[name_u]Baker[/name_u] - too associated with the occupation to take seriously as a name, makes me think of ‘the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker’ rhyme
[name_m]Booker[/name_m] - just sounds really harsh and a little like hooker
[name_m]Crew[/name_m] - too much of a word for me to accept as a name, just makes me think of a bunch of hangers on or a gang (sorry)
[name_m]Fielder[/name_m] - just makes me think of cricket or baseball fielders, unlucky if the kid isn’t good at or doesnt like sports
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u] - reminds me of Lincolnshire sausages (as a [name_u]Brit[/name_u], I understand it will be different for Americans)
[name_u]Parker[/name_u] - I’m really sorry but I’ve always really disliked this name. That’s not even taking into consideration the ‘nosey [name_u]Parker[/name_u]’ association
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] - sounds too similar to sinus and makes me think of a kid with a big snotty nose
Lose: [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]—kind of out there
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]—losing its cool
[name_u]Baker[/name_u]—too surnamey or occupational
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u]—puts the kid in a name slot
The rest are okay. I like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Callahan[/name_u], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (nickname [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]) best.
Especially love: [name_u]Callahan[/name_u] (favorite boy name but not usable for me due to it rhyming with my husband’s name), [name_u]Archer[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_m]Crew[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_u]Lincoln[/name_u] and [name_m]Whitman[/name_m].
Names that feel overused lately if that matters to you: [name_u]Grayson[/name_u], [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
I LOVE your choice in names. I would call them unique, but not too out there either
[name_f]My[/name_f] absolute favorites are: [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Callahan[/name_u], [name_m]Crew[/name_m], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Fraser[/name_m], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_u]Grey[/name_u], [name_u]Greyson[/name_u], [name_u]Jasper[/name_u], [name_m]Knox[/name_m], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Weston[/name_m], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
The only ones I really don’t like are [name_u]Baker[/name_u], [name_m]Booker[/name_m], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_m]Whitman[/name_m]
And the ones I’m iffy about, they just don’t sound handsome to me are: [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], & [name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]
I imagine this is an unpopular opinion, since it seems to be so popular on NB, but I really don’t like [name_u]August[/name_u].
Aside from that, you obviously have a penchant for surnames, which is a perfectly lovely style to have! While not always my preference, particularly those ending in -er, most make wonderful little boy names.
Favourites: [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Crew[/name_m], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
Which you’d lose-Nothing against these just my least favorites!
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_u]Callahan[/name_u]
[name_m]Fielder[/name_m]
[name_m]Fraser[/name_m]
[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
[name_m]Whitman[/name_m]
