We are expecting a girl and have narrowed our list down to four. I have some reservations about each, and just can’t make up my mind. Here they are:

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] - Very sweet name! I don’t think it would get shortened to [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], especially since it’s a pretty short name as it is.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - I don’t know of any Eves/Evies. I’m in the US so not sure if that applies to you. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is lovely and classic!
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] this too. I wouldn’t worry about the ass thing
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - I like this name–I think it would belong to a strong and independent girl.

I adore [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] but only for a boy/man. I also adore [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with the nickname [name_f]Evvie[/name_f] (ev-vee). I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] but prefer [name_f]Evvie[/name_f]. So my vote goes to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. In the future if you have a boy [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would make a fantastic sibling set.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] are my favorite.
I love [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. Let’s face it kids can find something to tease you about. The A$$ thing wouldn’t worry me. I love [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but it is a little more masculine - but it is perfect for a middle.

- [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] (this is a great name but I am on the fence about the ass- beginning, even though we pronounce it ‘arse’ over here, it still bothers me enough to never use it)
- [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (just sort of meh… it’s a great name, but I don’t love it)

[name_m]Just[/name_m] correct whoever calls her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but if she decides to go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] when she grows up you cant do anything about that so I dont know… Unless you have another nickname you could use? [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] maybe?
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - I think it’s so popular it’s lost its charm. People say there are not many [name_f]Eve[/name_f]'s around but only because those are babies so they have yet to meet them. I wouldnt use this one
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] - Everyone gets made fun of in high school- i’m sure she’ll just roll her eyes and be like ‘woah, so original’. Not a big deal
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - Sounds too masculine and kind of plain to me
So I would go for [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], and especially [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! I’m not a fan of [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], and I don’t like [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] at all. (For aforementioned reasons.) [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] IS popular (My cousin and a few others I know are named [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]) and I do think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a perfect choice.

Go with [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]! I’d establish an alternative nickname those tempted to call her Elllie can use - [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], Lo, [name_f]Leelee[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], etc.

[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is by far my favorite on the list, although 3 of your names made it onto our top 10 as well!! The reason we didn’t go for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is because of it’s popularity - I used to work at a daycare/preschool and there were 4 in that school alone 
If this is something that would bother you, I’d tend toward a different name.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] were our other two fav’s , and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a gorgeous standalone name with the adorable “Quinnie” as a nickname. I think it’s just charming and not at all common!! [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is a favorite but as I’m weird about nicknames, I opted out of this choice for fear of the inevitable [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nickname, as well. Unless you have a nickname set already, it is bound to happen.
Weigh your options for sure but because of the concerns you have listed, I would say [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is your best bit!!

I agree with this!! [name_f]Edie[/name_f] (EE-dee) is a great alternative nickname that if it’s already established, you can prevent [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] from taking root 
I adore [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and think it has plenty more nicknames than [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] find one you love and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] won’t stuck.
My favourites for you are [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is a beautiful, uncommon name, and I doubt that she would get called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] if you didn’t want her to be; just always use her full name and correct anybody who tries to shorten it, though I doubt many would. [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is also beautiful, and I really think the ‘ass’ thing is the least of your concerns, it’s really not a big issue in my opinion.
I’m not such a fan of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is starting to become too popular for me and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a name I’ll never be able to be onboard with, I just really don’t like it.
