I would like to suggest [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] for boy combos, because it gives a great grounded feel to the more creative [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and it’ll carry on a lovely family name; however, [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is also lovely. As for [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], it to me is a little too matchy-matchy with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]— I suggest instead using it as a middle name for first name [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] is sweet and adorable. If you’re concerned about the references to the recently-born HRH, I suggest looking the name up and perhaps checking out some classic but sweet names like it, such as [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], etc…if you’re also worried about popularity, you might want to look further into any classic names ending with a T sound you find. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] I could be helpful—in the end your choice will always be yours!! Best of luck
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] have my vote. I know you love [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], but it’s just way too similar to [name_u]Owen[/name_u] for me.
Thanks for the suggestions @lacekitty, but we really aren’t looking for alternate names. While I do like the idea of using a family name if possible as a middle, it is certainly not a requirement, and I definitely would not use one as a first. I feel I have looked into what seems like all possible avenues for similar names (it’s exhausting LOL!), but nothing strikes us the way these ones do. We like strong, sophisticated, traditional names that do still maintain a modern feel and suit both a child and adult, without being overly creative, trendy, sweet, cutesy, or frilly. These first names fit that bill for us. We are very torn as to which of the selected names to use though, and are at a point (2 weeks to EDD) where we are looking for opinions on which to use. My husband and I do have a slight preference on our top pick between Reid and Tristan, but we are both stuck equally between Gwen and Charlotte without a clear front-runner.
My top choices would be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. I adore [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_u]Reid[/name_u]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is gorgeous.
I absolutely love [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] - it’s gorgeous. I also really like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], and don’t think it’s too similar to [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. Maybe it’s my accent, but I pronounce [name_u]Owen[/name_u] more like ‘Oh-in’ so it’s a different sound to [name_f]Gwen[/name_f].
I love [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] as a brother for [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. Both very handsome.
I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a beautiful name, it’s classic and attractive like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] (and [name_u]Reid[/name_u]), but also has some spirit, doesn’t sound frilly, and its popularity doesn’t take away from its positive aspects. I also think that since [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_u]Reid[/name_u], and [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] are all in the Top 300, it would make sense for your girls’ names to be a bit more popular. Plus, it has a few possible nicknames if she’s a nickname kind of girl.
I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], though I actually like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] even more than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] stands out a bit more than [name_f]Grace[/name_f], especially these days when many people use [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle, and I like that [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is a family name.
I can’t get past the similarity of [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u], even though I really like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]. FWIW, I like both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] more than [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f].
[name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] & [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] are perfect! I love both names. For a girl, I picked [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I know you don’t care too much about a beautifully matching sibset but I just love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] together & as much as I typically don’t go for super popular names, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is simply gorgeous. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful, but I would prefer a more unique middle name. I don’t care for [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] - it feels dated without being interesting.
