Top boy names, what do you think?

I’m expecting a baby in [name_u]November[/name_u]. My husband and I have very different taste, he likes popular names and I like names that are less common, but not too different. I’m quite picky, I’m a teacher and would like a name that none of my students have ever had. My husband also loves nicknames, so anything with good nickname potential is a big bonus.

Our last name is one syllable and starts with B and mn will be [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (very important family name). Because the mn and ln are so short, we don’t want a fn that is too short. These are names we both like, which do you like best?

[name_m]Anderson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]

Thanks!

I love the flow of [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] with [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] would be the more unusual choice and I think it’s my favourite because [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] would probably end up being called “[name_u]Andy[/name_u]”. I don’t like the harsh sound of [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] at all and I don’t think it would sound good with a short “B” surname.

I prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] over [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] and [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]! And the nickname Ten is SO cool!

I prefer [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]. Great literary connotations and loads of potential for nicknames. I really like it!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]

i vote [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] - delightfully unique but with strong & iconic associations. [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] is also great, prefer nn [name_m]Anders[/name_m] to any other. Dont like [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] sorry.

I love [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] nn [name_m]Anders[/name_m]!

[name_m]Tennyson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds great and has great associations.

I don’t really like the sound of [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], and [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] reminds me of [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] (her name was [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] when she was married to [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]).

I love [name_u]Paxton[/name_u], but only as a middle name (For some reason I think it sounds amazing right before a last name…)
So I would have to choose [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]. (nn [name_m]Anders[/name_m]? [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]?)

haha as a teacher myself I totally understand the difficulty of choosing a name that hasn’t been in your class. I like [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] the best of the three!!

Haha, I was wondering if anyone would notice the [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] thing! Although I don’t love that reference, I figure most people won’t really know or think about the middle name, so I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. And if we pick [name_m]Anderson[/name_m], we would call him [name_m]Anders[/name_m], not [name_u]Andy[/name_u].

Also, my husband and I are definitely not poetry people, we just loved the name [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]. Is that a big deal? Our close friends that know that about us might have a bit of a laugh, but we’re ok with that.
