Top ten from your state?

The Social Security baby names list is a really handy tool for those of us in the US. Find and post your state’s top ten! What are your opinions on them?

For those who are not from [name_u]America[/name_u], what are your favorites (or least favorites) from our lists?

[name_f]Louisiana[/name_f]:
Boys
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]: This name (and a few others on my state’s top ten) are stuck in the 90’s for me. I have many peers with names on this list. Why they’re coming back into style so soon, I have no idea.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]: Not really my style, but I don’t think it’s terrible.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]: One of my boyfriend’s nephew’s is named [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. Despite its popularity, I actually really adore [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]: My state seems to be fond of Biblical names. I don’t love [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], but I see the appeal.
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]: I’m really happy this is in the top ten instead of one of its many, trendy relations. ( However, [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] is #12 :frowning: )
[name_m]William[/name_m]: A strong classic. I love [name_m]William[/name_m].
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]: Ugh. [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] has always been an “icky” name to me for some reason. Nothing against anyone who knows an [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]…
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]: Biblical and ridiculously popular in the 90’s. I know way too many [name_u]Michael[/name_u]'s my age.
[name_u]James[/name_u]: Another strong classic that I can’t get enough of. I like it better as a first than a filler middle.
[name_m]John[/name_m]: Boooring. My father, brother, and 30 other people I know are named [name_m]John[/name_m].

Girls
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]: Not my style, so I don’t have much to say about this one.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]: I always think of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u]'s novel, so I’m glad this one is in the girl’s top 10!
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] : I like this sound of this name a lot. If it weren’t popular, I’d definitely put it on my list.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]: Much prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (which is #65 in the state.)
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]: Not a fan.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]: Despite being sick of hearing [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], the [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] spelling was on my list for a while.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]: I know I’m not the only one who wishes this would go back to the boy’s side!
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]: I’m not a huge fan of unisex names, but I do know an adorable little [name_u]Avery[/name_u] that swayed my mind on this name.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] : I like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]! It’s very cute. I can’t really imagine it on a middle aged or old person (although, I guess it will be an old lady name one day!)
[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]: I really, really wish this name was not as popular as it is. Mostly because it’s terrible. No offense, Brooklyns of NB!

Neat idea. It’s always interesting to see how the top ten changes from state to state.

[name_f]Alaska[/name_f]
Boys
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]- love it. One of those popular names I don’t get tired of hearing.
[name_m]William[/name_m]- I love [name_m]Will[/name_m]. [name_m]William[/name_m] is a tad boring, but a good, strong name.
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]- meh, something about [name_u]Mason[/name_u] feels both trashy and snobby.
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] - love [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. So cowboy and boyish.
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]- well, I have a nephew [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], so I love it because of him. In fact, I loved it before him. It was on my list for years.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]- love [name_u]Noah[/name_u]. Another name I don’t tire of hearing.
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]- not strong feelings either way. Not a favorite, but I don’t dislike it.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name.
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]- Another name I don’t tire of hearing. It feels so… cool. haha
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]- If I didn’t know so many, I’d have this on my list. I think it’s a terrific choice.

Girls
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]- eh. I have nothing against it, I just prefer other [name_f]Em[/name_f] names.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]- love! When I was a little girl, it was on my list (as [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]). My mum’s best friend was a [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], and she was wonderful
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]- great name. Used to be on my list, and then one of my besties used it, and spelled it creatively. :frowning:
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]- I prefer [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], but [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is very pretty
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- cute, I like it
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]- meh, I don’t dislike it. Prefer other -er names, especially [name_u]Piper[/name_u].
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]- love! Honestly, one of my very favorite names I’ll never use. Never get tired of hearing [name_f]Emily[/name_f].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]- oi, bitter about this one. I always imagined sons when I was growing up, but when I imagined a daughter, she was a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. When it got really popular, I had a rant!
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]- it’s pretty. I don’t like or dislike it.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]- I like it. Positive association for me because of a little [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] I know, but even without her, I think it’s a great name.

Oklahoma:

Boys:

  1. [name_u]Mason[/name_u]- Very surprised to see this at #1. Never met a little [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] was #1 forever and ever.
  2. [name_m]Liam[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name and not surprised at all that it’s so high up. I know three born this year alone.
  3. [name_u]Noah[/name_u]- I adore this name and wish it wasn’t so common
  4. [name_m]William[/name_m]- A very classic and handsome name. Always been popular.
  5. [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]- I despise this spelling!! Cute name though when spelled [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].
  6. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]- This dropped way down. I figured this would still be in the top 5.
  7. [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]- I don’t like this name, but I can see why it’s so common. Hunting is a huge thing in OK.
  8. [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]- Biblical things are a big thing here. This is a cute name, but I have a bad association w/ it.
  9. [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]- One of my favorites!
  10. [name_u]James[/name_u]- Another very classic and handsome name.

Girls:

  1. [name_f]Emma[/name_f]- Super super cute. I can’t use it because it’s one of my cousin’s names (Not from OK)
  2. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]- I’ve never been a fan of this one
  3. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- Another super cute name. I know a few little [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]'s
  4. [name_f]Ava[/name_f]- Surprised to see this one so high. Never met any little [name_f]Ava[/name_f]'s.
  5. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]- I have never ever liked this name. I know a bunch of little [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]'s/[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]'s.
  6. [name_u]Avery[/name_u]- Totally surprised to see this so high.
  7. [name_u]Harper[/name_u]- Never cared for this name either. It’s too harsh sounding.
  8. [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]- Again, never been a huge fan of this name either.
  9. [name_f]Emily[/name_f]- Old fashioned, but very beautiful. Always liked this name.
  10. [name_u]Addison[/name_u]- I much prefer this name on a boy.

VA:
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. I wish it wasn’t so popular. I love the [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] association. If it wasn’t soooo common in my state, like every other baby I meet is named [name_f]Emma[/name_f], I’d have it on my own list.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]- eh. I like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but it isn’t a wow. I also have a cousin named [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (she’s 20), so I’m kind of used to hearing it.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], since it is the name of a major saint in my religion. But it is also super common in my state. I know more Sophias than I do Olivias.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]- I know a lot of Avas. I’m kind of sick of it.
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], but I find it kind of boring. It is the kind of name I liked about 10 years ago before I knew amazing names.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]- eh. I prefer [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is kind of over the top and a bit boring since I know lots.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]- [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is my dog’s name. So I love it since it reminds me of her. If I didn’t have her, I’d probably have it on my list. I didn’t realize [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was so common in my state.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]- I know lots of Emilys. I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] but [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is a nice name. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] was especially common around when I was born. I know lots my age.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]- so bored/tired of all the Maddies.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I have it on my list. I think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so classic that it doesn’t matter about popularity.

[name_m]William[/name_m]- My brother is named [name_m]William[/name_m], so I’m used to it. I like the name though.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]- I used to like [name_u]Noah[/name_u] before it became super popular. I’d probably have it on my list if it wasn’t so popular.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]- I know more young Liams than I do [name_m]Williams[/name_m] (but I know more older [name_m]Williams[/name_m] than Liams). I much prefer [name_m]William[/name_m] and am so tired of [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]- eh. I guess its alright. I only know a couple. I see the appeal.
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]- I like [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]. It is popular but I think it is becoming a classic like [name_m]William[/name_m] so it doesn’t bother me.
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]- I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but not [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I know soooo many Jacksons (and Jacks for that matter). I know about as many Jacksons as I do Noahs and it is boring.
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]- I like [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]. I know lots but it is a nice name. I knew 3 in one class of like 10 a couple years ago. Good thing it was an AM/PM class so all three weren’t in at all times.
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]- I don’t know many Elijahs, but I’ve never been fond of the name.
[name_u]James[/name_u]- I love [name_u]James[/name_u]. It’s my dad’s name. I have it on my own list. It is the most popular boys name of all time, I still love it. It is a classic.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]- I know so many Michaels of all ages. I find it boring and dated.

At least most of the names I love aren’t super popular in my state. I’m just hoping my favorite name, [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], won’t rise any more!

Connecticut:

[name_m]William[/name_m]: This name is so overused acoss all generations, but [name_m]Will[/name_m] is nice.
[name_u]Mason[/name_u]: It’s alright
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]: I like it. My nephew is named just [name_m]Jake[/name_m].
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]: I like the name, but its super popular! There is a [name_u]Noah[/name_u] in all three 1st grade classrooms where I work. There is also a teacher named [name_u]Noah[/name_u].
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]: Boring. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too many
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]: Its better than [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]: Its a nice name
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]: This name is everywhere. Its my grandfather’s name. [name_u]Jo[/name_u] names are popular here–[name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]Jose[/name_m], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]: I like it. Its my brother’s middle name
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]: The only [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] I have ever met is 20 now

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]: Its pretty and I don’t know many Olivias.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]: Really pretty but way overused. Last year there were 4 Isabellas among 3 preschool classrooms. My sister in law is [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], which is also pretty.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]: Kind of boring, I like longer E names
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]: I like it better spelled [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]: Cute, but popular between this and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]: Pretty, don’t personally know any, but I know Myas and Mayas.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]: Only [name_f]Emily[/name_f] I know is my age (23), I used to like this name in high school
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: This does not sound pretty or feminine to me
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]: Pretty popular, also not very pretty
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]: I have never liked this name. It is very popular

I don’t dislike any of those names, but most are just alright to me because I hear them so often. I really do like [name_u]Logan[/name_u], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] though.

F L O R I D A

[name_u]Jayden[/name_u] : ugh. I dislike all -ayden/aiden names. No appeal to me.
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m] : I used to think this name was nice but it’s just too common.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] : favorite from the group. Cute.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] : nice choice but becoming very popular quickly.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] : meh
[name_u]Mason[/name_u] : I don’t like that it became so popular after [name_f]Kourtney[/name_f] used it. I don’t think it’s that appealing.
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m] : meh
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] : decent, classic name
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] : another nice one. I prefer [name_u]Elias[/name_u] version though.
[name_m]Anthony[/name_m] : although it can seem plain, it is timeless to me.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] : I prefer streamlined [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] or just plain [name_f]Belle[/name_f].
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] : pretty name, very common, prefer [name_f]Sofia[/name_f].
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] : such a plain name.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] : [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is an adorable nickname.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] : such a sweet name.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] : used to be a favorite of mine.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] : very plain jane name.
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] : pretty name but I associate it with The Crucible.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u] : ugh
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] : preferred spelling of the name. I adore the nickname [name_f]Fia[/name_f].

I was happy with the boys names, pretty traditional, and the girls names were no surprise. Although, we are such a small state that a few births can really change the rankings. For example, [name_m]Liam[/name_m] was ranked as the most popular name for boys, yet the difference between [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] came down to 5 births.

[name_u]Mason[/name_u]: I liked it when I first heard it, but I’m so over it now. I’m ready for him to die down for a while! It’s a fine name–and I like it loads better than the also-rampant [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]–but I’m no longer thrilled by it. Still a nice, normal name, though. I’m not surprised it’s number 1 here.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]: also not surprised by this. I’ve heard several little Liams. I think it’s a fine name, but I was scared off by the popularity after I heard it about 3 times in one week. If it wasn’t so popular, I’d probably like it more. I used to have [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] nn [name_m]Liam[/name_m] on my list, but meh. If I was going to go for a trendy Irish name, it’d probably be [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] instead of [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_m]Cillian[/name_m], [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m], and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] more, though.
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]: haha, yeah, this is about right. I’m surprised it’s not still number one, honestly. We have a lot of Amish/Mennonites here, and it is quite popular with them, as well as the general public, still. I feel like everywhere I turn there’s a [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]. I like it okay, but of the “B” ending names, I vastly prefer [name_m]Caleb[/name_m].
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]: I find it really bland, and I dislike [name_m]Mike/name_m. I love [name_u]Micah[/name_u], but [name_u]Michael[/name_u] doesn’t really do anything for me.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]: I’m just grateful it’s not number one here! I love [name_u]Noah[/name_u], but the popularity, along with the fact that a high school frenemy used it, has put me off using it up front. I like it a lot, though, and would use it as a middle if I could find the right spot. I quite liked [name_u]Addison[/name_u] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] a while ago, and I still like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_u]Noah[/name_u], although I likely wouldn’t ever get the chance to use them.
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]: another one whose popularity I’m not surprised by! I hear [name_u]Logan[/name_u] everywhere. I’m not really a huge fan, but I can see the appeal, I suppose.
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]: my goodness, number 7?! I have a little second cousin named [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], and I adore the name, but I had no clue it was in our top 10. This sort of makes me sad…
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]: It’s classic. I like it a lot. It’s one of my MNs for [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], but I prefer [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] if it’d be a FN. I love the nn [name_m]Joe[/name_m], though.
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]: I like it okay, but I was scared off by the popularity. I think it’d be a great middle for something on the more obscure side ([name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]?). [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_m]Joel[/name_m] used to be on my list.
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]: ugh, I would really just love to shoot this name into a black hole. I adore [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but I hate [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], and the nn Jacks/[name_m]Jax[/name_m], which strikes me as the trendiest thing ever. I know of two baby Jacksons which were both born within a year of each other. I know it’s popular because it’s well-liked, and at least it’s spelled classically (Jaxxon? Jaxzyn? [name_m]Jaxson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxsen[/name_m]? :(), but I am really not a fan.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]: [name_f]Emma[/name_f]'s been holding on with a vice grip to the top spot here, haha! I feel like every time I’ve checked in the past couple years, [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is either number one or number two. I don’t mind–I find [name_f]Emma[/name_f] delightfully vintage and literary, while being sweet and demure and strong–but it’s definitely one of those names when I hear it’s a top name, I’m not surprised. I like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] more, but I would totally use [name_f]Emma[/name_f] as a middle name, or maybe even a nn for [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], which is on my list.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]: ha! Yeah, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]‘s the other one that’s usually either number one or two. I like it, but I don’t love it enough to use it up front. I’ve been considering using [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] as a MN in some of my combos, though.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]: meh, not really a fan. It always looks trendy to me, probably because there seems to be a trend to take “E” and “O” names and spell them with an “A” instead to ensure they get a softer “uh” beginning. Like, with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. If people are afraid she’ll be EE-lye-zah, they’ll use [name_f]Aliza[/name_f] just to ensure the uh- beginning. Same with [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f]), [name_f]Alena[/name_f] ([name_f]Elena[/name_f]), Avangeline ([name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]), [name_f]Adessa[/name_f] ([name_f]Odessa[/name_f]), etc. I’m a huge fan of [name_f]Eva[/name_f], too, so that probably plays into it for me.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]! She’s in my top 3. I know she’s popular, but I’d still use [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] in a heartbeat, anyway. I think she’s grand. With ties to my favorite Shakespearean play and peace, what’s not to love? I think [name_f]Liv/name_f and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] are adorable nns, too.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]: I like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] a lot–I’m sure I swooned when I first heard it in 2005!–but these days, [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] completely has my heart.
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]: [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] was my first favorite girls’ name. I still like it a lot, and I’m glad she’s getting some love, but I find the nn [name_u]Abby[/name_u] pretty boring these days, and I doubt I’d be able to ensure she was just [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. I just think [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]'s great.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]: I used to love [name_f]Emily[/name_f]! I still like it, but I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (or, most of all, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]) these days.
[name_u]Madison[/name_u]: I’m so over this. :frowning: I used to think [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] was cute, but now I don’t even like that. It’s masculine, it’s trendy (and starting to feel dated), and just blech. I am over it.
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]: I actually love [name_f]Mia[/name_f]! She’s so sweet and lively. I’m not sure I’d use just [name_f]Mia[/name_f], but I’d love to have her on my list in some form; I’ve liked [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f] before, and I’m starting to wonder if it’d work for any “M” name. Like Madelief nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f], or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f]? [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] “[name_f]Mia[/name_f]”?
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]: yuck. :frowning: I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], but I really dislike [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] for a girl. I like it okay for a boy. I’m not surprised it’s in the top 10 here–I do hear it a lot, for all age groups–but I would really rather see [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], or even [name_u]Avery[/name_u], which I vastly prefer for a boy.

I found a scattered list of top baby names in my town in [name_f]East[/name_f] Anglia, [name_f]England[/name_f], but nothing in the top 10 format. Instead, I just did [name_f]England[/name_f], which is pretty much the same as the top ten where I live, give or take a few names.

This varies a lot over the country and I don’t know any Sophias, Isabellas, Avas, [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]‘, Jacobs or [name_u]James[/name_u]’.

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] are on my list though, and I have a 10 month old nephew called [name_u]Noah[/name_u].

So I’d say, pretty standard.

I’m not in the states but we do have a Top 10 for each Bundesland (basically a state just 100x smaller), I hope that’s okay, too?!

  1. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] - love, I wouldn’t use it up front because it is super popular but it’s still such a beautiful name

  2. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - like, I don’t personally know any and while it’s pretty, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] feels very trendy (not the bad kind, though)

  3. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] / [name_f]Hanna[/name_f] - I’ve always thought of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] as a very boring name

  4. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] / [name_f]Klara[/name_f] - adore, though I it feels a tad boring in [name_m]German[/name_m]

  5. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - is very pretty (it’s three syllables in [name_m]German[/name_m])

  6. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] / [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] - argh, this is so incredibly boring and so incredibly overdone

  7. [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] / [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - nice though I do think it’s quirkier in English

  8. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - very pretty, I’m always surprised this is still so popular

  9. [name_f]Ida[/name_f] - beautiful, it’s ee-da in [name_m]German[/name_m] which makes it 200x better

  10. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - boring

  11. [name_m]Henri[/name_m] / [name_m]Henry[/name_m] - love it though there are many children with this name

  12. [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] - a bit boring

  13. [name_m]Luis[/name_m] / [name_m]Louis[/name_m] - my brother’s and a million other boys’ name

  14. [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] / [name_m]Jakob[/name_m] - boring

  15. [name_m]Paul[/name_m] - I swear that name’s like an epidemic, I know at least 7 Pauls (said Powl as in Cow)

  16. [name_m]Ben[/name_m] - I don’t know any, I prefer it to [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] but still like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] best

  17. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] / [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] - boring

  18. [name_m]Mats[/name_m] / [name_m]Mads[/name_m] - nice, it has a very northern European vibe to it without sounding harsh

  19. [name_m]Emil[/name_m] - I’ve never been the biggest fan, it’s a bit boring to say, I prefer the emphasis on the second syllable

  20. [name_m]Moritz[/name_m] - okay but nothing grand
