For me it was a toss-up between [name]Callista[/name], [name]Octavia[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name]. I think [name]Miranda[/name] pairs slightly better with [name]Duncan[/name], and “[name]Miranda[/name] Kilgore” lacks the alliteration of “[name]Callista[/name] Kilgore.” [name]Octavia[/name] [name]Irene[/name] was very slightly more difficult to say than smooth [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Irene[/name].
From a meter perspective, a three-syllable first name is best with 2-syllable [name]Irene[/name] & 2-syllable Kilgore. You don’t want the stress to be on the final syllable, since EYE-reen KIL-gore each have the stress on the first syllable.
That leaves you with [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Callista[/name], [name]Octavia[/name] and McLaren.
McLaren sounds like a race car, and McLaren Kilgore is just too Irish.
I love [name]Phoebe[/name] with [name]Duncan[/name]! It’s sweet and feminine, but not frilly and not bland. Plus I think [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Irene[/name] flows really nicely.
My top four would be [name]Callista[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] (in that order). As mentioned above I think a 3-syllable name sounds best with your middle and last.
[name]Annika[/name] got my vote, but I really, really love [name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], and [name]Callista[/name], too. With [name]Duncan[/name], I really love [name]Phoebe[/name], though. [name]Annika[/name] still gets my vote, with [name]Phoebe[/name] as a really close second.
I voted for [name]Phoebe[/name]. It seems to really go well with [name]Duncan[/name]! I like a lot of your names though. Almost voted for [name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name] (prefer [name]Juliet[/name]) and [name]Annika[/name].
I voted for [name]Phoebe[/name] because I felt it was the only name that matched [name]Duncan[/name] in terms of simplicity and elegance. Most of the others seemed too overly thought-out. My second choice would be [name]Adair[/name].
I do really like [name]Phoebe[/name]; the only problem with it is the association with the character [name]Phoebe[/name] on Friends. I’ve never seen the show but apparently at one point she (briefly) marries a character named [name]Duncan[/name] [name]Sullivan[/name]. Would this be too weird? Or is Friends so 90s that the association has worn off by this point?
I think [name]Frances[/name] and [name]MacLaren[/name] are off the table. If we did choose [name]Phoebe[/name], we’d probably choose a one-syllable middle name, like [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Quinn[/name].
That was tough! So many great choices! You really can’t go wrong. I ended up voting for [name]Phoebe[/name] though. It’s got the same kind of feel to it as [name]Duncan[/name].
The other ones I really liked with [name]Duncan[/name]; [name]Callista[/name], [name]Adair[/name] and [name]Annika[/name]. Good luck!
