So now we are down to the top three. I like any /all of them and would like some opinions on what you think.
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Woolf[/name]
([name]Samuel[/name] is a name on both sides of the family, and [name]Garrison[/name] is a spin on my late grandfather’s name. Last name is pron. “[name]Wolf[/name]”)
[name]Layton[/name] [name]Graham[/name] [name]Woolf[/name]
(I know [name]Layton[/name] seems a bit trendy but I like that you don’t hear it often… my husband has liked this unisex name for a long time either for boy or girl. I love [name]Graham[/name] with it because it is grounding and solid.)
[name]Waylon[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Woolf[/name]
(Possibly the most controversial of the three. [name]Waylon[/name] comes from… you guessed it… [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name]. While I like that it’s unusual and rugged, I worry this gives too much of an “outlaw” image for my son… At the same time it’s maybe just enough to be cool without being strange? What about with the last name? [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Woolf[/name]… is it too much? This is my husband’s favorite.)
So tell me what you think or feel free to give some suggestions !! Thanks!~
Mine is another vote for [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name]. I agree with melissaintlouis that it sounds dashing and that it sounds the best with your last name. I also like the nickname [name]Sam[/name].
I don’t care for the trendiness or the unisex quality of [name]Layton[/name], though I did check the numbers and it’s reassuringly in the lower half of the Top 1000 for 2011. And I don’t care for [name]Waylon[/name] with your last name–sorry. If you chose it with [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name] in mind, you probably wouldn’t consider the original [name]Wayland[/name], would you? I prefer it, and it would help the “wailin’ wolf” sound a little.
Congratulations and best wishes!
My favorite is [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name]. I just love [name]Samuel[/name], it’s such a handsome name, and [name]Sam[/name] is so spunky and cool and laid-back. I think the Biblical [name]Samuel[/name] is a great namesake, too. [name]Layton[/name] [name]Graham[/name] would be my second pick. I have grown to love [name]Waylon[/name] (I know an adorable little boy with the name!), but I just prefer [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Layton[/name], personally. I slightly prefer the [name]Leighton[/name] spelling, though–would you consider that? Or does that make it seem too feminine?
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] is my favorite as well. I’m not a fan of [name]Layton[/name], and although I really like [name]Waylon[/name], Wailing [name]Wolf[/name] sounds like a cheesy Native American name.
I like either [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] or [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Garrison[/name]. I actually think they would go well as brothers. With a sister named [name]Leighton[/name]? or [name]Leigh[/name]? Cute.
I like both [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Layton[/name]. [name]Waylon[/name] seems a bit made up to me, and [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] sounds a bit sing-songy. I think my favorite, though, is [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Woolf[/name].
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] - I agree, this is THE BEST!! A classic, handsome, very unpretentious, and not at all trendy.
2 [name]Layton[/name] [name]Graham[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] - [name]Layton[/name] sounds a little feminine too me. I love [name]Graham[/name] though.
3 [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] - - I like [name]Waylon[/name] but [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] is too much.
Thanks for all the replies. You guys have the same thoughts as me, actually. For the most part I love [name]Samuel[/name]. I do agree the biblical/traditional / classy vibe is hard to beat.
I like [name]Layton[/name] too, although not quite as much as [name]Samuel[/name]. I like the spelling [name]Leighton[/name] better too, but that is very feminine to me, so it’s not an option. I like [name]Leighton[/name] spelled this way more for a girl.
[name]Waylon[/name] I agree is too much, but I wanted to get some opinions on it anyway… I think it’s a cute name, but just not so much with our surname. I appreciate your advice!!
If you have any other suggestions, feel free to let me know! thanks!
[name]Samuel[/name] is for sure the best. While reasonably popular, the name is strong, handsome, professional, and comes with the cute nn [name]Sam[/name]. [name]Layton[/name] looks very made up to me and I would immediately group it with the trendy and misspelled group. [name]Waylon[/name] could be ok (although I personally don’t like it very much) but your last name should immediately take it out of the running
I too like [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Garrison[/name] best! [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] just sounds so rugged and manly while it could still be cool and professional.
[name]Layton[/name] [name]Graham[/name] is alright. It just doesnt flow well for me. I like the name [name]Layton[/name] and I like the name [name]Graham[/name] but I just always saw [name]Graham[/name] as a girl’s name and since [name]Layton[/name] is unisex I think it sounds a bit more like a girls name… Sorry!
[name]Waylon[/name] is just totally not my style and it seems kind of like a last name to me. If you were going to use it I would much perfer [name]Wayland[/name] like one of the previous posters mentioned. But in general I just don’t really like it.
[name]Hope[/name] this helped!

I think [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] sounds really solid and classic. That being said - I love, love [name]Waylon[/name]. I happen to be a huge [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Jennings[/name] fan but even despite that I think [name]Waylon[/name] [name]Woolf[/name] sounds oh so cool! I don’t think its strange at all - I love it. It kind of depends if you lean towards classic/traditional or cool and unusual.
[name]Layton[/name] just doesn’t do much for me - I also knew a [name]Layton[/name] that was a girl so I have trouble associating this name with a boy. I don’t hate it - but it doesn’t jump out at me like [name]Waylon[/name]. Best of luck, congrats!!
