Torn between middle names

So we have four weeks left before our second little man jo?. We have narrowed it down between two names, [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], and we will decide once we see him which name fits best.

But our issue is the middle name. We are choosing between [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], in honor of DHs late grandfather, and [name_m]Christian[/name_m], in honor of a fallen soldier DH served in Iraq with. For [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] I prefer [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] as the middle name, I think it flows better and for [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] I prefer [name_m]Christian[/name_m] as the middle, again I feel it flows better. But DH prefers [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] to be paired with [name_u]Emmett[/name_u].

I need your help! Which do you prefer?

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m]

Thanks in advance!

I think [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] flows better than [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]

I like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m]

I agree that [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] does not flow as well as [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] (the former being a little K sounds heavy). For [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], I prefer [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] than [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u]. I think it sounds slightly more sophisticated.

I think [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] work the best- both are gorgeous names!

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] flow very nicely

Why not [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]?
Or [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]!

I agree that [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] are great suggestions!

Thank you all for your input! I really appreciate it! I’ll have to let DH know how everyone felt!

And [name_f]Saphira[/name_f], we wanted to use either [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] or [name_m]Christian[/name_m] as middle names because they both honor people who were closer to DH that have passed on.

I really like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u].

I think they all work well (as the varied answers suggest) so I wouldn’t pick based on that. I suggest picking the middle you want to use based on meaning, who is it more important to you to honor? Would not using one cause someone to feel slighted?

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] is perfect  I feel like [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] sounds too informal/nickname to be paired with [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m].

I would choose the middle name that has the most meaning to the two of you. Is it more important to you and your husband that you honor your husband’s grandfather or your husband’s friend? That’s for you to decide.

If you really want to base the middle name choice solely on how the names sound together, I would do [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] or [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m].

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] is by far the better combo.

I love [name_m]Christian[/name_m] as a first name so [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] would be tops too.

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is a very handsome combo.

All the best,

rollo
