Tossing a few names around - would love some feedback

[name]Robin[/name]: I’d love to name her something that works on the playground and as a professional. Something that is energetic yet still elegant. Does [name]Robin[/name] strike that balance?

[name]Georgia[/name]: Has long been a favorite but I’m worried she’d be one of many Georgias in her class.

[name]Lou[/name]: Is it too ‘nickname-y’? Besides [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Lucy[/name]/[name]Lucille[/name], is there anything else this could be short for?

[name]Ellis[/name]: I love this, but is it too close to the ever-popular [name]Ella[/name]?

[name]Josie[/name]: I’m generally not a fan of names that end in -y- or -ee- but I keep circling back to this. Besides [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Jocelyn[/name], what else could [name]Josie[/name] be short for?

DH is a bit preppy, I’m tend to be more modern. We’d love a classic name. I’d love your feedback!

I would usually expect that spelling to be a boy & [name]Robyn[/name] to be the girl’s version

[name]Georgia[/name]: Has long been a favorite but I’m worried she’d be one of many Georgias in her class.
Have you considered [name]Georgie[/name] as a less common option? Could be short for [name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Georgette[/name]?

[name]Lou[/name]: Is it too ‘nickname-y’? Besides [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Lucy[/name]/[name]Lucille[/name], is there anything else this could be short for?
Might be nice to have a more formal option. I think [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] & [name]Lucille[/name] are all cute. Also maybe [name]Luanne[/name]?

[name]Ellis[/name]: I love this, but is it too close to the ever-popular [name]Ella[/name]?
Sounds like a boy’s name to me.

[name]Josie[/name]: I’m generally not a fan of names that end in -y- or -ee- but I keep circling back to this. Besides [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Jocelyn[/name], what else could [name]Josie[/name] be short for?

I Like [name]Josie[/name] & [name]Josephine[/name]. Can’t think of other options though.

[name]Robin[/name] - I can imagine this on a professional and in the play ground, i consider it energetic but not serene or sophisticated enough to be elegant. Its a friendly name non the less.

[name]Georgia[/name] - i can only imagine a [name]Georgia[/name] as a bossy girl and not a very nice adult, sorry. It has a very strong feel to it, a smart kid name. I do know many Georgias so i consider it a popular name.

[name]Lou[/name] - Cute, if you really like it then why care if its to nickname - y.

[name]Ellis[/name] - More serious then [name]Ella[/name], i consider this a boys name so nms.

[name]Josie[/name] - Nms, dont like it sorry.

Out of your list i would say [name]Lou[/name] & [name]Georgia[/name] are of classic style.

[name]Robin[/name] - I really don’t like it. It sounds masculine and dated to me.
[name]Georgia[/name] - I like it, but it may be too popular. [name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name] would be better.
[name]Lou[/name] - [name]Lou[/name] is cute, but yeah, it’s a nickname. I would go with [name]Lucinda[/name] nn [name]Lou[/name].
[name]Ellis[/name] - All boy to me.
[name]Josie[/name] - It’s all nickname to me. [name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] would be nice, but if that’s not your style maybe [name]Johanna[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] could work.

Oh, for [name]Lou[/name] how about [name]Luna[/name]?

Some other random ideas for you…
[name]Justine[/name]
[name]Milla[/name]
[name]Honora[/name]
[name]Cassia[/name]
[name]Ines[/name]

[name]Robin[/name] - I really can’t picture [name]Robin[/name] on a girl. I actually know a [name]Robyn[/name], but she is very tomboy-ish. It just doesn’t strike me as elegant, sorry!

[name]Georgia[/name] - I really adore [name]Georgia[/name], it’s gorgeous and comes with a range of cute nicknames - [name]Gia[/name], [name]Gigi[/name], [name]Georgie[/name]… not sure where you’re from, so can’t comment on popularity. But, if you like them, there’s always [name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name] (jor-[name]JAY[/name]-nuh, sometimes jor-jee-[name]AH[/name]-nuh).

[name]Lou[/name] - definitely too nicknamey for me, I can only picture “[name]Lou[/name]” on a boy. You could have [name]Eloise[/name]/[name]Eloisa[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Louisiana[/name], [name]Alouette[/name], [name]Luella[/name], [name]Marilou[/name], [name]Lilou[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Luna[/name]…

[name]Ellis[/name] - Again, this is masculine to me. It is very close to [name]Ella[/name], too. Perhaps [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Alice[/name]? Or as a nickname for [name]Elissa[/name]/[name]Elisabeth[/name]?

[name]Josie[/name] - You could have it as a nickname for [name]Josanne[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], [name]Joseline[/name], [name]Josiane[/name], [name]Josette[/name], Josabel, Josina, [name]Joseba[/name], [name]Josefa[/name].
