Tossing around a few names

We just started trying for #7, so it’s time for name-hunting! We have a great list already, but we’re tossing around a few names that we haven’t talked a lot about during the last pregnancies. [name]How[/name] are these names perceived? Yay or nay? Would they fit in our sibset (see signature)?

[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]Adrian[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]
[name]Elias[/name]
[name]Robin[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]
[name]Casper[/name]
[name]Linus[/name]
[name]Crispin[/name]

Thanks, berries!

I love [name]Rafferty[/name], [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Spencer[/name] with your other childrens names.

To go with [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name] & [name]Eleanor[/name]:

[name]Hugo[/name]- Yes! Works great with your sibset. And if a great name.
[name]Tobias[/name]- No. Never liked this name. Plus it feels too heavily Biblical to go along with your sibset.
[name]Morgan[/name]- No. Feels too casual with your sibset. And I’m not a fan in general.
[name]Finn[/name]- No. Again feels too casual with your sibset. I like [name]Finn[/name] as a nickname, but I don’t think any of the longer [name]Finn[/name] names ([name]Finley[/name], [name]Phineas[/name], [name]Finnian[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name]) really fit your sibset that well either.
[name]Flynn[/name]- I like this name, but again feels too casual with your current sibset.
[name]Xavier[/name]- I think this would be a really great choice. Awesome name.
[name]Roman[/name]- Not a fan.
[name]Spencer[/name]- It’s a mediocre name, but again doesn’t feel like it fits your sibset very well.
[name]Leighton[/name]- No. Dislike it strongly.
[name]Emmanuel[/name]- I think this would be a very great option.
[name]Adrian[/name]- This would be a really great option.
[name]Raphael[/name]- I really really like this name a lot. I don’t know if it fits your sibset as perfectly as [name]Hugo[/name] or [name]Xavier[/name], but not crazy outside.
[name]Elias[/name]- I like it, but a third E name may not be the best idea it seems to me.
[name]Robin[/name]- No.
[name]Rafferty[/name]- I like it, but doesn’t fit your sibset particularly well.
[name]Casper[/name]- I’d prefer [name]Jasper[/name]. But good choice.
[name]Linus[/name]- I like it, but it doesn’t fit your sibset particularly well.
[name]Crispin[/name]- I like it a lot, again doesn’t quite fit your sibset as well as [name]Hugo[/name] or [name]Xavier[/name], but definitely could work.

Personally, I’d keep:
[name]Crispin[/name]
[name]Casper[/name] ([name]Jasper[/name]) ([name]Jasper[/name] would be my overall favorite stand alone name here, but that’s not actually on your list)
[name]Raphael[/name] ([name]Raphael[/name] and [name]Emmanuel[/name] are probably my two favorite stand-alone names (aside from my [name]Jasper[/name] addition) from your list)
[name]Adrian[/name]
[name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]Xavier[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name] (not my favorite stand-alone from your list, but I think it’d fit your sibset with absolute perfection, and it’s a great name)

I honestly think [name]Hugo[/name] would be a prefect match with [name]Edward[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]!

[name]Tobias[/name] - I like this it is on our list I like “[name]Toby[/name]” however I know SO many little [name]Toby[/name]'s atm!

[name]Morgan[/name] - I love this for a girl!

[name]Xavier[/name] - [name]Adore[/name] this name but my husband does not…

[name]Roman[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this name so much!

[name]Raphael[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this - it is in our top 3! [name]Do[/name] you think it is too intense for a baby?! [name]Just[/name] curious as we’re not 100 percent because of this!

I think [name]Tobias[/name] is the clear winner with your sibset. I really love [name]Spencer[/name] as well.

My favorites from your list:
I think these names go great with your other children’s names, and are just wonderful, classic, fabulous, great names! I love them! Please use [name]Raphael[/name] for me. It rhymes with my last name, so I can’t.

[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]

Names I like from your list:
[name]Finn[/name] - I want to like [name]Finn[/name], and I kind of do, but I can’t help but think of a fish fin or a flipper. Also, I think it’s getting quite popular/trendy, if that’s a concern to you, probably because it was (is?) a character’s nickname on Glee.
[name]Roman[/name] - I like it… I just don’t love it, and I don’t think it feels as well with your sibset as many of your other names.
[name]Xavier[/name] – Like it, just don’t think it’s as great as some other choices.
[name]Elias[/name] – I actually like this name a lot. I think it has two drawbacks, one being the strong “el” sound when [name]Elle[/name] is becoming so popular for girls, and two being that it may be hard for others to pronounce.
[name]Casper[/name] – Like it, not sure about the friendly ghost problem. Have you considered [name]Caspian[/name]? Seems like you’d love [name]Caspian[/name] since you like [name]Casper[/name] and [name]Crispin[/name].
[name]Linus[/name]

Names I would eliminate:
[name]Morgan[/name] – I think this has gone to the girls.
[name]Flynn[/name] – [name]Finn[/name] is so much better, imo.
[name]Leighton[/name] – way too modern/trendy for your classic sibset.
[name]Emmanuel[/name] – way too feminine for me, especially given the wild popularity of [name]Emma[/name].
[name]Adrian[/name] – eh, just not my cup of tea.
[name]Robin[/name] – too feminine, makes me think of the bird, also sounds dated to me (very 1950s)
[name]Rafferty[/name] – we have tons of [name]Rafferty[/name]'s restaurants around here. Maybe that’s not a problem where you live? Still, I don’t care for the sound and don’t think it fits with your classics.
[name]Crispin[/name] – I just don’t like the sound, at all.

I love, love, love your children’s names!!! what gifts you’ve given them. Good luck!
