My husband and I have two lovely girls, [name]Esme[/name] [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Piper[/name] (7) and [name]Isla[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Olive[/name] (4). After TTC for year and a half, we’re finally pregnant–five months pregnant, to be exact.
It was so easy to name our girls, and we absolutely adore their names. However, with this baby we’re having such a hard time. It’s so difficult to find names that we love and go with the name style of our girls’ while not sounding or looking similar to theirs. I’ve looked and looked and looked but nothing stands out the way it did with [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]'s names.
We’re actually choosing not to find out the gender of our baby; it’s what we did for [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name], and it works for us
Not sure if any of these would be ur style (and they are not all necessaruly mine!) but I think lots of them are cute/elegant/handsome and make good sibling names for [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name].
Boys
[name]Finnian[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
Sorry, it was quite hard to find names that matched your other girls! Boys was especially tricky. I think my favourite would be [name]Esme[/name], [name]Isla[/name] & [name]Marin[/name] for girls. [name]Marin[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Cora[/name].
Your girls have such lovely names!
To match [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] (sorry for repeats and I starred my favorites):

[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]

[name]Stella[/name]*
[name]Cora[/name]*
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Cara[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]

[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Magda[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]*
[name]Laura[/name]/[name]Lara[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]*
My favorites are [name]Rose[/name], [name]Lily[/name]/[name]Lilou[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name].

[name]Louis[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]*
[name]Rhys[/name]*
[name]Julian[/name]*
[name]Dante[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]*
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]*
[name]Oscar[/name]*
[name]Willis[/name]/[name]William[/name]/[name]Liam[/name]*
My favorites are [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Oscar[/name] and [name]Liam[/name]. I love the pp’s suggestion of [name]Owen[/name], by the way.
My first thought for a girl would be [b][name]Eira[/name] /b which is Welsh so fits with [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]'s Celtic roots. For a boy my first thoughts were [name]Owen[/name], [name]Finn[/name]/[name]Finlay[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name], again because of the Celtic connection.
Boys:
[name]Owen[/name] - I know many others suggested this, but it does seem like a good fit!
[name]Paul[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Alfie[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
Your daughters have gorgeous names- just fantastic! Actually [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] were both on my list IF I have a girl, but since I have 2 boys I did not get to use either- just love them! My sons are [name]Owen[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name], which is funny to see them suggested to match your sibset since we seem to have similiar taste:-) The first thing that jumped out at me when I saw [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Esme[/name] as sisters was the 4 letter thing and the fact they both have vowel names. This maybe a bit hard to follow though, especially with another girl! [name]Anya[/name]? If you don’t care about that then I think [name]Maeve[/name] might be great too.
Thanks everyone! You guys suggested a ton of great names, and now my husband and I finally have a list of names we like.
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Finnian[/name]/[name]Finley[/name]/[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] (two twighty? I’ve never read the books and am definitely not a fan, but would people assume we’re fans?)
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
But we can’t find any girl names that really stand out to us; none of them shine like [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] do for us. We’re weirdly drawn to [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name], but we think they’d be too clunky with [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name].
I think the problem we’re having is that we like names that unfortunately have too much similarity to our daughters’ names. We’re finding the two-syllable names that end with A too close to [name]Isla[/name] and while we love
So I guess we’re looking for a one-to-three syllable name that doesn’t start with E or I, doesn’t have the long I sound, doesn’t have the long A sound, and doesn’t end with A.
Oh, and I was wondering. Would giving this baby a vowel name be too matchy? I mean, we’re giving up some of our favorite names because they’re too similar to [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]'s names. [name]Do[/name] we have to give up any names that start with a vowel as well?
I’m glad NB could help you with the boys’ names! I love all of them to go with your daughters’ names!
(I starred my favorites.)
BOYS:
[name]Owen[/name]*
[name]Finnian[/name]/[name]Finley[/name]/[name]Finn[/name]*
[name]Rhys[/name]*
[name]Declan[/name]*
[name]Jasper[/name] (two twighty? I’ve never read the books and am definitely not a fan, but would people assume we’re fans?)—I [name]DON[/name]'T THINK PEOPLE [name]WILL[/name] THINK YOU ARE TWILIGHT FANS
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
GIRLS: I think [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] are perfect to go with [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]! (And no, I don’t think you need to give up the vowels!) Here are some other suggestions:
[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Bronwen[/name]
[name]Carys[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]
I think [name]Daphne[/name] works well with [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]. It has the same light, feminine quality. [name]Phoebe[/name] seems more…spunky? quirky? I don’t know, but it doesn’t flow as well for me. What about…
i absolutely love your girls names!! and your boys list And I love the suggestion of [name]Hazel[/name]! (and no I don’t think you have to give up your vowels)
[name]Love[/name] the boys list. I think [name]Cian[/name] would work great too. Girls names I think you need something light and airy like [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Isla[/name]. What about [name]Carys[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Neve[/name], [name]Imogen[/name]??
Your boys list is great all the names work well but I like [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] the most. As for girls names this is hard. I totally get not wanting their names to start or end w the same letter: I also want the same for my 3rd. I don’t think [name]Phoebe[/name] is too clunky. [name]Esme[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] are on my girls list. This is my entire girls list minus ones that have already been mentioned.
Bounce We’re really liking [name]Alice[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Luna[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], and [name]Clio[/name] from your suggestions. Thanks for the long list!
Merylp Thanks! [name]Phoebe[/name]'s definitely on our list now. From your suggestions, we like [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Clio[/name].
alexa400 Great suggestions! We love [name]Adele[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], and [name]Margo[/name].
Phoebesmom Thanks for your input! [name]Daphne[/name]'s on our list, and from your suggestions we really liked [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]
So our tentative list right now (not in any particular order) for girls is
[name]Finnian[/name]/[name]Finley[/name]/[name]Finn[/name]–which one?
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] (two twighty? I’ve never read the books and am definitely not a fan, but would people assume we’re fans?)
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
