Totally honest opinions on my favourites, please ;P

[My apologies for not having been on here for quite some time. I took a brief but much-needed break from names. Also, please excuse my signature - hasn’t been changed for quite some time!]

Anyway, I since I haven’t been on here for so long, and my name lists are very much forgotten, I’d like your help to cut back my lists. They’re very roughly in order of favourite, but not 100%. So, here are my girls:

[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name] / [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Lana[/name] - This is a very spur of the moment fave. I was listening to some song yesterday by [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name], and thinking how pretty and underused [name]Lana[/name] actually was. But what about pn? Laaar-nah is very much the standard British pn, whilst the American one seems to be more ‘Lah-nah’. Not sure which I like best. And is it too 60s Sex Symbol? That’s certainly the style [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name] seems to be aiming for, and of course their is [name]Lana[/name] [name]Turner[/name]… so I’m a bit lost.
[name]Pippa[/name] / [name]Philippa[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] - British pn. A like in Father.
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name] (And any other exotic forms of [name]Margaret[/name])
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Ottilie[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] - Another spur of the moment one.
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] - Possibly short for some form of [name]Katherine[/name].
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Nigella[/name]
[name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Ramona[/name]

I haven’t thought about boys quite so much, so I’ll only ask for opinions on small few I’m really in love with at the minute:

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name] - I love how cute and more vintage sounding [name]Henri[/name] is, but I get the feeling it’s too girly
[name]Elliot[/name] - a family name I’ve only really discovered. It was my great-grandmother’s maiden name.
[name]William[/name] - Is [name]Willi[/name] cruel?
[name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Bram[/name]
[name]Freddie[/name]
[name]Rupert [/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]

Ok, i’ll tell you which ones I really like off your list. Maybe that will help narrow it down for you.

[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’ - I actually prefer [name]Nico[/name] by itself
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]William[/name] - i’ve been liking [name]Liam[/name] better than [name]William[/name] here lately.
[name]Dexter[/name]

These are the ones that I really love off your list. I hope that helped a bit.

My favorites:

[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name] (And any other exotic forms of [name]Margaret[/name])
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Bram[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]

My fave’s are:

[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]/[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]

[name]Nicolas[/name]/[name]Nico[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]

First off, you have excellent taste, and I don’t say that lightly.

[name]Eliza[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Evangeline[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Amelie[/name] / [name]Amelia[/name]- [name]Love[/name] both, prefer [name]Amelie[/name], though pronunciation may cause problems.
That’s certainly the style [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name] seems to be aiming for, and of course their is [name]Lana[/name] [name]Turner[/name]… so I’m a bit lost.- Lar-nah? With an r? I don’t get it. I like Lah-na. Also, [name]Alana[/name].
[name]Pippa[/name] / [name]Philippa[/name]- I love [name]Pippa[/name]. Meh on [name]Philippa[/name]. Not sure how long Ms. Middleton will “own” this name.
[name]Clara[/name] - British pn. A like in Father.- You mean CLAH-ra, rather than CLA-ra? I don’t say [name]Claire[/name]-uh, and I don’t say Sair-uh ([name]Sarah[/name],) but I also don’t say CLAH-ra, so I’m having a tough time grasping what you mean. But I like it, anyway.
[name]Beatrice[/name]- Like this a lot! WAAAAAAAAAY more than [name]Beatrix[/name].
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name] (And any other exotic forms of [name]Margaret[/name])- Not technically a form of [name]Margaret[/name], but I’m digging [name]Magdalena[/name] at the moment. I like [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Margareta[/name].
[name]Beatrix[/name]- Can’t stand it. Sounds pretentious/crazy to me, like it’s trying way too hard. [name]Love[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]. It’s unique and spunky enough already. Stick with that.
[name]Matilda[/name]- I think the -tild- sound is hideous. But that’s just me.
[name]Annabel[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Tallulah[/name]- I think it’s TOO spunky. A shy person couldn’t pull it off ever in a million years.
[name]Pearl[/name]- I don’t care for the sound. It’s awkward to me.
[name]Ottilie[/name]- I’m so so on this one. I like it a lot as a middle, but not at all as a first.
[name]Iris[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Nola[/name] - Another spur of the moment one.- Like.
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] - Possibly short for some form of [name]Katherine[/name].- Yes, it should be short for [name]Katherine[/name]. I like it a lot.
[name]Rosalie[/name]- [name]Love[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]- [name]Love[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name]- I like [name]Vivienne[/name] (vi-vee-EN) or [name]Vivian[/name] (vi-vee-IN.) I’m not sure which way this is supposed to be pronounced, but I prefer [name]Vivienne[/name].
[name]Felicity[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Genevieve[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Emma[/name]- Like.
[name]Nigella[/name]- Not a fan, no particular reason.
[name]Ophelia[/name]- Tragic.
[name]Ramona[/name]- Like.

Favorites: [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name] (is that an option?), [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Coraline[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Amelie[/name].
Least favorites: [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Pearl[/name].

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’- [name]LOVE[/name]. My favorite boy’s name on your list.
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name] - I love how cute and more vintage sounding [name]Henri[/name] is, but I get the feeling it’s too girly-I think [name]Henri[/name] (on-[name]REE[/name]) sounds pretentious. I like [name]Henry[/name].
[name]Elliot[/name] - a family name I’ve only really discovered. It was my great-grandmother’s maiden name.- I love names with family connections, and this is a great one.
[name]William[/name] - Is [name]Willi[/name] cruel?- no, just nickname him [name]Will[/name]. Or [name]Liam[/name]. It’s a great name.
[name]Dexter[/name]- I love [name]Dex[/name], but no matter how hard I try, I can’t get myself to like [name]Dexter[/name].
[name]Bram[/name]- I like [name]Abram[/name] better. A lot better. But I don’t dislike [name]Bram[/name].
[name]Freddie[/name]- I love [name]Freddie[/name] on a little kid, I think it’s alright on a teenager, but then I don’t like it above about 17. It sounds Juvenile to me. But then, I don’t like [name]Fred[/name] either, so I guess I’m just saying I like it, but not how it ages.
[name]Rupert[/name]- I don’t get nameberry’s fascination with this name. I think it sounds ridiculous. If you’re British, I think it’s different. But if I met an American baby [name]Rupert[/name], I’d be like, “wtf???” It sounds, to me, like it’s making fun of itself. But maybe I’m crazy.
[name]Noah[/name]- Meh. I like [name]Noa[/name] for a girl a lot. [name]Noah[/name] on a boy is just kind of- meh.
[name]Arthur[/name]- I like this a lot!

Favorites: [name]Arthur[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name]/[name]Nico[/name].
Least favorites: [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Henri[/name] (but I still like [name]Henry[/name].)

[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Lana[/name]
[name]Pippa[/name] * [name]LOVE[/name] [name]JUST[/name] [name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] - Nickname [name]Tilly[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name] - Prefer [name]Vivienne[/name] though
[name]Ramona[/name] * [name]LOVE[/name]

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name] * [name]Love[/name] it
[name]Dexter[/name]
[name]Bram[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]

[name]Eliza[/name]: Sweet but a little plain
[name]Evangeline[/name]: Elegant and pretty but too…frilly?
[name]Amelie[/name] / [name]Amelia[/name]: Like them both
[name]Lana[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lana[/name]! I pronounce it Lah-na.
[name]Pippa[/name] / [name]Philippa[/name]: [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Pippa[/name]…too nicknamey. [name]Philippa[/name] is better but not my style either.
[name]Clara[/name]: [name]Don[/name]'t like that pronuncation.
[name]Beatrice[/name]: Alright.
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name]: [name]Marguerite[/name] is too old-lady-ish, [name]Margareta[/name] reminds me of margarita, and [name]Margot[/name] reminds me of maggot.
[name]Beatrix[/name]: [name]Don[/name]'t really like
[name]Matilda[/name]: Absolutely hate! Sorry. I can’t imagine this on a little girl. I only see an old, stuffy, grouchy woman.
[name]Annabel[/name]: Pretty!
[name]Tallulah[/name]: Too frilly for a name
[name]Pearl[/name]: It’s been growing on me! Maybe as a MN?
[name]Ottilie[/name]: Not sure how to pronounce?
[name]Iris[/name]: Really like!
[name]Nola[/name]: I don’t think I can give an honest opinion on this name, as I live in New Orleans :stuck_out_tongue:
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name]: Cute!
[name]Rosalie[/name]: Like
[name]Coraline[/name]: [name]Love[/name]! Great alternative to [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name]: Only like [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]: [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Genevieve[/name]: Like
[name]Emma[/name]: [name]Way[/name] too common!
[name]Nigella[/name]: the “[name]Gella[/name]” sound is not appealing AT ALL. Reminds me of flagella.
[name]Ophelia[/name]: Hate, sorry.
[name]Ramona[/name]: All I can hear is “moan”

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’: Hate [name]Nicholas[/name], but like [name]Nico[/name]
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name]: Not my style
[name]Elliot[/name]: Like a lot!
[name]William[/name]: [name]WAY[/name] too plain!
[name]Dexter[/name]: All I think of is [name]Dexter[/name]'s Lab…
[name]Bram[/name]: I like it, but it sounds like bran…
[name]Freddie[/name]: Short for [name]Frederick[/name]/[name]Frederic[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]: All I think of is [name]Rupert[/name] Grint
[name]Noah[/name]: Hate it, don’t understand the appeal
[name]Arthur[/name]: All I think of is [name]Arthur[/name] the cartoon aardvark

Love:
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] - Possibly short for some form of [name]Katherine[/name].
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]

[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]William[/name] - I prefer Will or Liam as a nn

[name]Eliza[/name] - NMS but it’s not bad
[name]Evangeline[/name] - This is one of those names I just can’t get into. I don’t know why.
[name]Amelie[/name] / [name]Amelia[/name] - Prefer [name]Amelia[/name]. Like it!
[name]Lana[/name] - I know of someone that pronounces this as “la-nah” (first “a” like in “apple”). I kinda like it.
[name]Pippa[/name] / [name]Philippa[/name] - It’s not a bad name but all I can think is that someone naming their kid this is only doing it because of [name]Pippa[/name] Middleton. It’s the same feeling I get with the name [name]Isabella[/name] and Twilight. [name]May[/name] not be your reason, but that’s what I go to.
[name]Clara[/name] - NMS
[name]Beatrice[/name] - Not bad, wouldn’t use myself. [name]Kinda[/name] like the nn [name]Bea[/name].
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name] (And any other exotic forms of [name]Margaret[/name]) - I like [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] - NMS
[name]Matilda[/name] - [name]Kinda[/name] like it but it reminds me of the movie. Not a bad association though.
[name]Annabel[/name] - Like
[name]Tallulah[/name] - I just can’t take this name seriously!
[name]Pearl[/name] - I don’t mind most “old lady” names, but this one I don’t like at all.
[name]Ottilie[/name] - Sounds made up to me.
[name]Iris[/name] - Not a fan of flower names personally, but this isn’t too bad.
[name]Nola[/name] - I like [name]Nora[/name] better.
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] - [name]Kate[/name], yes. [name]Kitty[/name], no.
[name]Rosalie[/name] - NMS
[name]Coraline[/name] - Like. I also like [name]Cordelia[/name].
[name]Vivien[/name] - Really like this name but I prefer Vivan or [name]Vivienne[/name].
[name]Felicity[/name] - Like it. Reminds me of the American Girl books
[name]Genevieve[/name] - Like.
[name]Emma[/name] - Like but too popular for me.
[name]Nigella[/name] - Dislike.
[name]Ophelia[/name] - Another one of those names I just can’t get behind!
[name]Ramona[/name] - [name]Kinda[/name] like it.

I haven’t thought about boys quite so much, so I’ll only ask for opinions on small few I’m really in love with at the minute:

[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’ - I like this name. I’d maybe use it if I hadn’t dated someone with the name!
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name] - NMS but it’s not bad. Strongly prefer [name]Henry[/name]. I agree that [name]Henri[/name] looks more feminine - such as short for [name]Henrietta[/name].
[name]Elliot[/name] - I love this name! I prefer [name]Elliott[/name] but either way is fine. I’ve seen some people try to take this over to the girl’s side but I won’t let them!
[name]William[/name] - I like [name]Liam[/name] as a nn for this. I’d go with [name]Willy[/name] over [name]Willi[/name] though if that’s the nn you prefer.
[name]Dexter[/name] - Dislike.
[name]Bram[/name] - NMS
[name]Freddie[/name] - Prefer [name]Frederick[/name] (or a different spelling? That looks funny to me)
[name]Rupert[/name] - NMS
[name]Noah[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this name!
[name]Arthur[/name] - Not bad

I dislike [name]Tallulah[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] very much. I like [name]Ottilie[/name] and [name]Ophelia[/name]. I usually like names that start with vowels so [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Iris[/name]. I also like [name]Felicity[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name].

As for boy names, I like [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Noah[/name].

I’ve been crushing on Magalie as a [name]Margaret[/name] variation lately. I also like [name]Maggie[/name] as a nn!
[name]Eliza[/name] is great as well.

Well, I have to speak up and say I love [name]Tallulah[/name] for a name! I have one of my own, spelt Talulah. We call her [name]Tilly[/name] for short, and I like that it’s a little different without going way over the top! And we also have a baby girl named [name]Lorelai[/name]. I do like [name]Rosalie[/name] from your list. And as for boy names, I’ve always like [name]William[/name], and I like [name]Noah[/name], too. This probably hasn’t helped you at all!
