First off, you have excellent taste, and I don’t say that lightly.
[name]Eliza[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Evangeline[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Amelie[/name] / [name]Amelia[/name]- [name]Love[/name] both, prefer [name]Amelie[/name], though pronunciation may cause problems.
[name]Lana[/name] - This is a very spur of the moment fave. I was listening to some song yesterday by [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name], and thinking how pretty and underused [name]Lana[/name] actually was. But what about pn? Laaar-nah is very much the standard British pn, whilst the American one seems to be more ‘Lah-nah’. Not sure which I like best. And is it too 60s Sex Symbol? That’s certainly the style [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name] seems to be aiming for, and of course their is [name]Lana[/name] [name]Turner[/name]… so I’m a bit lost.- Lar-nah? With an r? I don’t get it. I like Lah-na. Also, [name]Alana[/name].
[name]Pippa[/name] / [name]Philippa[/name]- I love [name]Pippa[/name]. Meh on [name]Philippa[/name]. Not sure how long Ms. Middleton will “own” this name.
[name]Clara[/name] - British pn. A like in Father.- You mean CLAH-ra, rather than CLA-ra? I don’t say [name]Claire[/name]-uh, and I don’t say Sair-uh ([name]Sarah[/name],) but I also don’t say CLAH-ra, so I’m having a tough time grasping what you mean. But I like it, anyway.
[name]Beatrice[/name]- Like this a lot! WAAAAAAAAAY more than [name]Beatrix[/name].
[name]Marguerite[/name] / [name]Margareta[/name] / [name]Margot[/name] (And any other exotic forms of [name]Margaret[/name])- Not technically a form of [name]Margaret[/name], but I’m digging [name]Magdalena[/name] at the moment. I like [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Margareta[/name].
[name]Beatrix[/name]- Can’t stand it. Sounds pretentious/crazy to me, like it’s trying way too hard. [name]Love[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]. It’s unique and spunky enough already. Stick with that.
[name]Matilda[/name]- I think the -tild- sound is hideous. But that’s just me.
[name]Annabel[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Tallulah[/name]- I think it’s TOO spunky. A shy person couldn’t pull it off ever in a million years.
[name]Pearl[/name]- I don’t care for the sound. It’s awkward to me.
[name]Ottilie[/name]- I’m so so on this one. I like it a lot as a middle, but not at all as a first.
[name]Iris[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Nola[/name] - Another spur of the moment one.- Like.
[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Kitty[/name] - Possibly short for some form of [name]Katherine[/name].- Yes, it should be short for [name]Katherine[/name]. I like it a lot.
[name]Rosalie[/name]- [name]Love[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]- [name]Love[/name]
[name]Vivien[/name]- I like [name]Vivienne[/name] (vi-vee-EN) or [name]Vivian[/name] (vi-vee-IN.) I’m not sure which way this is supposed to be pronounced, but I prefer [name]Vivienne[/name].
[name]Felicity[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Genevieve[/name]- [name]Love[/name].
[name]Emma[/name]- Like.
[name]Nigella[/name]- Not a fan, no particular reason.
[name]Ophelia[/name]- Tragic.
[name]Ramona[/name]- Like.
Favorites: [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name] (is that an option?), [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Coraline[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Amelie[/name].
Least favorites: [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Pearl[/name].
[name]Nicholas[/name] ‘[name]Nico[/name]’- [name]LOVE[/name]. My favorite boy’s name on your list.
[name]Henry[/name] / [name]Henri[/name] - I love how cute and more vintage sounding [name]Henri[/name] is, but I get the feeling it’s too girly-I think [name]Henri[/name] (on-[name]REE[/name]) sounds pretentious. I like [name]Henry[/name].
[name]Elliot[/name] - a family name I’ve only really discovered. It was my great-grandmother’s maiden name.- I love names with family connections, and this is a great one.
[name]William[/name] - Is [name]Willi[/name] cruel?- no, just nickname him [name]Will[/name]. Or [name]Liam[/name]. It’s a great name.
[name]Dexter[/name]- I love [name]Dex[/name], but no matter how hard I try, I can’t get myself to like [name]Dexter[/name].
[name]Bram[/name]- I like [name]Abram[/name] better. A lot better. But I don’t dislike [name]Bram[/name].
[name]Freddie[/name]- I love [name]Freddie[/name] on a little kid, I think it’s alright on a teenager, but then I don’t like it above about 17. It sounds Juvenile to me. But then, I don’t like [name]Fred[/name] either, so I guess I’m just saying I like it, but not how it ages.
[name]Rupert[/name]- I don’t get nameberry’s fascination with this name. I think it sounds ridiculous. If you’re British, I think it’s different. But if I met an American baby [name]Rupert[/name], I’d be like, “wtf???” It sounds, to me, like it’s making fun of itself. But maybe I’m crazy.
[name]Noah[/name]- Meh. I like [name]Noa[/name] for a girl a lot. [name]Noah[/name] on a boy is just kind of- meh.
[name]Arthur[/name]- I like this a lot!
Favorites: [name]Arthur[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name]/[name]Nico[/name].
Least favorites: [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Henri[/name] (but I still like [name]Henry[/name].)
