Traditional names that sound same in EN/FR/Spanish: Olivia? Noemi? Others?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone, I am looking for a traditional name for my baby girl, and one that is pronounced more or less the same in English /[name_m]French[/name_m]/Spanish due to my European background.
I love the name [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - and it fits the pronunciation and “traditional” criteria - but really do not like the fact that it is so popular in US/UK.
Another name I like is [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] but I’m concerned that the pronunciation may get butchered in English-speaking countries.
Any advice on how to choose between these two?
Any other suggestions?
[name_u]Baby[/name_u]'s last name is one syllable so prefer a first name with 2 or more syllables, and middle name is [name_f]Grace[/name_f], so looking for a name that works with these (I think [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] both work with middle and last names).
Thanks a lot!

[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] is the same in English and Spanish I think… but I am not sure about [name_m]French[/name_m]

Let’s see…

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]?
[name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is pretty awesome, and very popular. In this case I might consider this a good thing because it is popular across western Europe, and if your daughter travels a lot then she will have a name that is recognizable to most everyone. I would be more hesitant about [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], because while it is an awesome [name_m]French[/name_m]/Spanish name it will give many anglophones a deal of trouble.

A few other well-known choices are: [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Sara[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]? [name_u]Love[/name_u] love that name! It would definitely work.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]

[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is one that might work!

I love [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]! I’m not sure how you pronounce it in [name_m]French[/name_m], but in Spanish we pronounce it No-AY-Mee or No-Ay-MEE. In English, people pronounce it more like No-Eh-Mee. It is a beautiful name and every one compliments me on my daughter’s name, but everyone wants to say [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] at first.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! Thanks so much for all your feedback and suggestions! (sorry for the very late reply, suffering from some IT issues)

Soooo, some thoughts from our side:

@yarsl: Hadn’t thought about the possible advantage of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] being popular in that it would be recognisable internationally - thanks! It will definitely stay on the list

Names that both me and my partner really like: [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] was one of our top choices as well until I heard a couple of ppl pronounce it SO-fia instead of So-FI-a (which is my preferred, and I thought the only/correct, pronunciation!), so wondering about that one…

I also really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] but my partner isn’t keen on those unfortunately. And [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] I also like but have close associations with those names so feels a bit weird…

While I absolutely looove the name [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], sadly I think it will have to go from the list :-(. So many ppl we’ve asked have just not been able to get it, and I think it would be a pain for her to have to explain her name to everyone, every single time.

So it looks like we’ll go forward with: [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]

Thanks again all, so helpful to have your nameberry inputs
