Hello,
I’ve never posted on here before so hopefully I’m in the right place.
Our surname is [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and we’re expecting a little girl in [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has an unusual name himself and is really brave with choosing names, whereas I’m a bit more nervous about names sounding a bit too mad when paired with our surname. I think my current favourite name is [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], although since falling pregnant I feel like I’m now finding problems with all the names I used to like! His current favourite names are [name_u]Forest[/name_u] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f].
I’m keeping an open mind and I think [name_u]Forest[/name_u] could be really cool, but I’m just a bit worried it sounds too bold. I was thinking we could put it with a fairly normal middle name like [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Elouise[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] to make it a tad more normal.
Any thoughts on these names or any names which could work well with our surname?
I could see how having a word surname would make choosing a name a little more difficult! For what it’s worth I think [name_f]Summer[/name_f] is a totally normal accepted name, and though [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] definitely paints a strong picture I dont think it would raise too many eyebrows. [name_u]Forest[/name_u] would be a little more unexpected on a girl, but again has been used as a name for so long it wouldnt be too out there.
Maybe a compromise between ‘word’ names and ‘name’ names might help something like…
Forest [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is very magical and off-beat, but personally, I think I’ll tend to associate [name_u]Forest[/name_u] more to the word, rather than the name, if that makes sense.
[name_f]Elouise[/name_f] is very sweet as a middle!
Hmm I wonder if he would like Castle [name_f]Moon[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]? I think that would be really cool! But I also really like [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] / [name_f]Cassondra[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f].
Forest [name_f]Moon[/name_f] feels dark, while [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] feels bright. I like both, but I agree that it paints a vivid picture. [name_u]Forest[/name_u] is also a very masculine name to me, but I know it’s a unisex name here.
Good luck! I think your last name is really cool and you’ll find a great name for your little one!
I love your surname! But yes, it’s a bit much for me to pair it with another word name. [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] sound like the titles of YA fantasy novels, but it’s not really a bad thing. I would keep them in the middle spot and go with a name, rather than a word, for the first name. I really like [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. It’s gorgeous. Other ideas:
Cassidy [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Tauriel[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] ([name_f]Tauriel[/name_f] means daughter of the forest)
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Eila[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Elina[/name_f] [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilana[/name_f] [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_u]Forest[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] or [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] (I love [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f])
I for one think your surname is fabulous!! If you don’t mind me asking what is your husband’s name? I think there is definitely a way to reach a happy medium and either way your daughter will have a really cool name
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f], quite literally would mean shining golden [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. Which i think is stunning
Forest and [name_f]Summer[/name_f] are both lovely but they do sound a bit descriptive to me. [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is lovely. Maybe [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] so you get [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and a nature name?
What about [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Callie[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]? They both sound normal to me.
Forest [name_f]Moon[/name_f] sounds dark & masculine. Sorry, but I don’t recommend.
It doesn’t sound like this is your personal style, but I think a M name would sound lovely with your surname.
