TRIPLET NAME SEARCH: Boy / Boy / Girl - HELP!

Hello Everyone
My wife and I are having triplets ( Boy / Boy / Girl ) which was a huge shock for us in the beginning as we didn´t plan on having more than three children – well, we are going to be proud parents of five. Things don´t always turn out the way one expects them to . . . Anyway, they were born a few days ago and we still haven´t decided on a name for neither one of the boys nor the girl. Our son is called [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u] [name_u]REID[/name_u] ( “[name_u]ELLIS[/name_u]” ) ( 8 ) and our daughter´s name is [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] MACKINSEIGH ( “[name_f]LIV[/name_f]” ) ( 5 ). We want the names of our newborn children to fit in with the ones of their older siblings and create a nice sounding set. However, I personally prefer nicknames as first names but as you can tell I lost this battle when our son was born – I proposed [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and my wife turned it into [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] because she likes the longer names a lot better. She says one can always shorten them if the kid doesn´t like the ordinary version but one can´t make them any longer once the name is written down on the birth certificate. We have created a very, very, very short list of names we both like, but don´t love as much as [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u] and [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f].

  1. BOY: [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m]
  2. BOY: [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] / [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] / [name_m]Julian[/name_m]
  3. GIRL: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] / [name_u]Logan[/name_u]
One of the boys will be names [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], after my beloved brother who was supposed to be the godfather of one of our children but died last year of cancer. We haven´t come up with any middle names for either of them as we can´t even agree on any first names. We normally wouldn´t choose a name to honor somebody because there are just too many meaningful names in her and my family which is the reason why we agreed to pick a name we simply like. [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] is an exception because my brother and I were really close and my wife got to know him pretty well. He was a big part of both our lives. The middle name is more difficult. [name_f]LIV[/name_f] loves the name [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] [name_u]ROBBIN[/name_u] but naming your kid after [name_f]WINNIE[/name_f] THE POOH . . . ??? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a better idea ?
I would like to have a unisex name such as [name_u]Logan[/name_u] for our daughter but my wife thinks that this will be weird because [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] is obviously a girl name. On the other hand [name_u]ELLIS[/name_u] is a neutral name as well. What do you think – is there any unisex name for a girl that does match [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] without standing out to much ?
For the last boy it is way more difficult because we have no guidelines at all. [name_m]How[/name_m] would name a brother to [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u], [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] and [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] ?
    Thank You

First off, I don’t know if you’ve decided on a nickname for [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] yet, but if not, my favorite nickname for that name is [name_m]Kip[/name_m]! I feel like [name_m]Kip[/name_m], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] are adorable. Possible middle names:
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Pax[/name_u]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]

For the second boy, I think [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is the name to go with, personally. I love the sound of it with the other children’s names. Especially if you call him Auggie or [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. Middle names could be
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Logan[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Mason[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Luca[/name_u]

For the girl, I have to agree with your wife. I love the name [name_u]Logan[/name_u], but I think it doesn’t match with the other names you’ve chosen. However, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] goes perfectly. I think the nicknames [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Coco[/name_f] would match wonderfully.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Raine[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Elinor[/name_f]

If the whole thing were my choice, which clearly it isn’t but I’m gonna give you my opinion anyway lol, I would pick [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], with the nicknames [name_m]Kip[/name_m], Auggie, and [name_f]Coco[/name_f], so your whole sibset would be [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_m]Kip[/name_m], Auggie, and [name_f]Coco[/name_f].

Congrats and I hope you find names you love!

Triplets! Congratulations! What a blessed surprise haha! I love your older children’s names, [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], and [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] is so perfect due to is meaning. I think you said your daughter loves [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Robbin[/name_u]? I personally don’t know if I could do it either, but what does your wife think? It really isn’t horrible, and it sounds nice  Here’s a little list of names that I think could hopefully work, or maybe work as some inspiration!

For your not-so-girly-name that still goes with [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]:
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
[name_u]Connolly[/name_u]
[name_f]Marae[/name_f]
[name_f]Starling[/name_f]
[name_u]Tiernan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tierney[/name_u]
[name_f]Quenby[/name_f]
[name_f]Elayne[/name_f]
[name_u]Reagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tegan[/name_u]
[name_u]Reece[/name_u]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u]
[name_f]Brittan[/name_f]

For your other little boy:
[name_m]Richmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_u]Adrien[/name_u]
Harrson
[name_u]Keenan[/name_u]
[name_u]Keagan[/name_u]
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_u]Walker[/name_u]
[name_m]Walden[/name_m]
[name_u]Windsor[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! Good luck!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! You could call her [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. Or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as a first name is unisex, but in my opinion prettier than [name_u]Logan[/name_u]. I agree with type wife on sisters [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_u]Logan[/name_u] not going together. [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] would be my pick for the other boy, nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. Good luck!

*[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]! Oops haha

Naming one of your sons [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] is a lovely way to honour your brother.

For your first triplet, [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], nicknames could be [name_m]Kip[/name_m] (as sarahmeganc suggested), [name_u]Kris[/name_u] or [name_u]Kit[/name_u].
Middle names could be [name_u]Robin[/name_u], as your daughter wanted, or [name_m]Robert[/name_m] if you don’t mind compromising, both with the cute nickname of [name_u]Robbie[/name_u]. Personally, I don’t associate [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh with the name [name_u]Robin[/name_u] - I associate it with the little bird we get a lot of in the UK. However, if you really don’t like rob- names then maybe [name_m]David[/name_m] (from the Hebrew for beloved) or the less conventional [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] would be a nice combo.

For your second triplet and son, I think [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is a great name name as it could suit him at any stage in his life. [name_u]Gus[/name_u] or Auggie or even [name_u]Gussy[/name_u] are adorable nicknames.
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] would go great with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] as both give summer months their names ([name_u]July[/name_u] and [name_u]August[/name_u]). However, I quite like [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], as it uses the K in [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], so there is some degree of similarity between the two boys.

I also have to agree with your wife on this one - I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would work better for your youngest. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a name that could suit your daughter well, no matter her personality. There are also many nicknames that go with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - [name_u]Charly[/name_u], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Lotta[/name_f], etc.
While I don’t think that [name_u]Logan[/name_u] can necessarily work as a first name for your daughter I don’t see why it couldn’t be used as a middle name. Other options could be [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (the -ia ending is the same as in [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]) or maybe [name_f]India[/name_f] or [name_f]Erica[/name_f] as they are fairly uncommon but not too unheard of and easy enough to write and say.

You have [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] ([name_u]Ellis[/name_u]), [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] ([name_f]Liv[/name_f]) and [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] (probably [name_u]Kris[/name_u] or [name_u]Kit[/name_u] at some point)…

I agree with your wife about the femininity of [name_u]Logan[/name_u] - it seems off next to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], and [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m]. If both boys had very very masculine nicknames, or if [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] was something more unisex, I’d say okay, but [name_u]Logan[/name_u] will always be taken for a boy at first with these siblings. I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Logan[/name_u] would be a great compromise (and then you can have nicknames [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Callie[/name_f], etc).

As for your third, and final, boy, I say go with [name_m]Julian[/name_m] or [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] with the full names, but I’m not a huge fan of its nicknames; I like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] (or even [name_u]August[/name_u]) more as a full name and a nickname ([name_u]Gus[/name_u] is adorable).

So I would have [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_u]August/name_u, and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_u]Gus[/name_u], and [name_f]Callie[/name_f].

I say use all the names!

[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Jules[/name_u] (it’s almost [name_m]Julian[/name_m])
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Frank[/name_m] ([name_m]Franklin[/name_m] works too, but I like just [name_m]Frank[/name_m] more)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Logan[/name_u] – [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t make her first name [name_u]Logan[/name_u]. You could call her [name_f]Charli[/name_f] if you really want a more boy-ish name for her

And I don’t find [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] to be unisex. It’s firmly a boy name to me

I like the idea of having the boys both have a greek name so -

[name_m]Alexei[/name_m] - [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] in Greek
[name_m]Demetrius[/name_m] - “Follower of Dementer”
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m] - “A watchman”
[name_m]Lukas[/name_m] - [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] in Greek
[name_m]Markos[/name_m] - [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] in Greek
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m] - “Liberator”
[name_m]Philander[/name_m]- “Loving man kind”
[name_m]Piers[/name_m] - “[name_m]Rock[/name_m]” (be aware of [name_m]Piers[/name_m] [name_u]Morgan[/name_u] associations but it could work)
[name_m]Stavros[/name_m] - “[name_m]Cross[/name_m]”

For a girl I think we should keep the theme going -
[name_u]Drew[/name_u] - “[name_m]Manly[/name_m]” (meanings aren’t everything though so this could work)
[name_f]Alexa[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexia[/name_f] - “Defender of men”
[name_f]Carissa[/name_f] - “[name_f]Grace[/name_f]”
[name_f]Dora[/name_f] - “Gift”
[name_f]Kacia[/name_f] - “[name_f]Acacia[/name_f]” (Keep the tree theme going for the girls)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - “Women from [name_f]Lydie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Melissa[/name_f] - “[name_f]Honey[/name_f] bee”
[name_f]Myra[/name_f] - “Sweet smelling oil”
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] - “A flowing stream” ([name_m]Tom[/name_m] Hanks’ wife has this name so it won’t too out there)
[name_f]Zetta[/name_f] - “[name_f]Olive[/name_f]” (It’s hebrew and different for what you were saying but I think it would be cute for the girls to both have names meaning olive. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is olive tree so not the same but it’s still works)
