Hello Everyone
My wife and I are expecting triplets ( Boy / Boy / Girl ) which was a huge shock for us in the beginning as we didn´t plan on having more than three children – well, we are going to be proud parents of five. Things don´t always turn out the way one expects them to . . . Anyway, they were born a few days ago and we still haven´t decided on a name for neither one of the Boys nor the girl. Our son is called [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u] [name_u]REID[/name_u] ( “[name_u]ELLIS[/name_u]” ) ( 8 ) and our daughter´s name is [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] MACKINSEIGH ( “[name_f]LIV[/name_f]” ) ( 5 ). We want the names of our newborn children to fit in with the ones of their older siblings and create a nice sounding set. However, I personally prefer nicknames as first names but as you can tell I lost this battle when our son was born – I proposed [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and my wife turned it into [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] because she likes the longer names a lot better. She says one can always shorten them if the kid doesn´t like the ordinary version but one can´t make them any longer once the name is written down on the birth certificate. We have created a very, very, very short list of names we both like, but don´t love as much as [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u] and [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f].
GIRL: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] / [name_u]Logan[/name_u]
One of the boys will be names [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], after my beloved brother who was supposed to be the godfather of one of our children but died last year of cancer. We haven´t come up with any middle names for either of them as we can´t even agree on any first names. We normally wouldn´t choose a name to honor somebody because there are just too many meaningful names in her and my family which is the reason why we agreed to pick a name we simply like. [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] is an exception because my brother and I were really close and my wife got to know him pretty well. He was a big part of both our lives. The middle name is more difficult. [name_f]LIV[/name_f] loves the name [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] [name_u]ROBBIN[/name_u] but naming your kid after [name_f]WINNIE[/name_f] THE POOH . . . ??? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a better idea ?
I would like to have a unisex name such as [name_u]Logan[/name_u] for our daughter but my wife thinks that this will be weird because [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] is obviously a girl name. On the other hand [name_u]ELLIS[/name_u] is a neutral name as well. What do you think – is there any unisex name for a girl that does match [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] without standing out to much ?
For the last boy it is way more difficult because we have no guidelines at all. [name_m]How[/name_m] would name a brother to [name_u]ELLISON[/name_u], [name_f]OLIVIA[/name_f] and [name_m]KRISTOPHER[/name_m] ?
Thank You
From the names you have pick above I would choose [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I also like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] for the 2nd boy. I’m personally not big on [name_u]Logan[/name_u] for a girl.
Other Ideas for girl:
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tatum[/name_u]
First, a middle name for [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m]. I don’t think [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Robbin[/name_u] would be appropriate based on the [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh reference. He will still have this name as a grown man!
What about these?
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_m]Kristopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]
Next, a unisex name for your girl. You should find a name that is used more frequently for girls but is considered unisex. Something not as frilly as [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_u]Kelsey[/name_u]
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u]
[name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u]
Finally, a 3rd boy name to flow nicely with [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]:
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
[name_u]Tyler[/name_u]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
Good luck!!! This is tough but I’m sure you’ll find the right fit
From your list I’d pick [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] to go with [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] could be nicknamed [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and you’ll have your unisex name for her
[name_u]Ellison[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_u]Kris[/name_u], [name_u]Gus[/name_u] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u].
I also quite like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] for boy #2: [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m] & [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_u]Kris[/name_u], [name_u]Jules[/name_u] & [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
What you can do if you’re not going to use names from your families, is to use names from places, movies, books, songs, etc. that you love
I love the names you’ve already thought of… [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are wonderful names!
I think [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_m]Kristopher[/name_m], [name_m]Julian[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] all sound lovely!
